This should be a fun high scoring game in the ACC. The Wolfpack took care of business yesterday against the worst team in the ACC in Louisville. They also did it short handed without their best player in DJ Horne shooting over 60% from the field. Now if DJ couldn’t go yesterday, how much better could he be today? Regardless, now the wolfpack has to play a team that beat them twice in Syracuse. The Orange doesn’t play good defense, but compared to Louisville they look like Virginia. Cuse will have some big advantages down low ranking 60th in adjusted near proximity shots to NC State ranking 198th stopping it. Both teams should be able to hit the three pointer, but Syracuse is slightly better at defending it. One thing that I like to look at for tournament play is how these teams have done over their last month of play. Since February 10th, Bart Torvik shows Syracuse ranking as the 47th team in the nation going 5-3. NC State only ranks 81st respectively and has went 3-6 in that nine game span. I think that the Orange knows how to play and beat the wolfpack, and if DJ Horn is still hindered, this will be a bonus to this play.
