Xavier vs Providence -3 O/U 142.5
This should be an interesting game in the Big easy and I am not sure why Providence is favored. I know that Xavier doesn’t have good numbers and all, but look who they have played? UCONN, Purdue, Houston, Villanova, Saint Mary’s and Cincinnati. That is sure one hell of a schedule so far. Providence has had a cake walk in the Non-conference with their best win back before thanksgiving vs Wisconsin while losing to Oklahoma by 19 points. Now don’t get me wrong, this team lost their coach last year in Ed Cooley and rebounded well with Kim English from George Mason, but the bigger loss this season is to their best player in Bryce Hopkins to a knee injury. Providence is a favorite here and they can’t seem to shoot free throws well ranking 295th in FT% which we all know is bad for favorites in crunch time. Xavier has size down low and they have an advantage in second chance points. I do not see any advantages here matchup-wise for Providence and I think Xavier wins outright. Take the Points.
