- Memphis out-gained Navy 659 to 566 yet lost 56-44. A 1-0 turnover ratio and terrible rushing defense killed the Tigers.
- Arizona State out-gained Texas Tech 376 to 334 yet lost 30-22. A 1-0 turnover ratio, 8 penalties and bad special teams killed the Sun Devils.
- Auburn out-gained Arkansas 431 to 334 yet lost 24-14. A Gross 5-2 turnover ratio killed the Tigers.
- Northern Illinois out-gained Buffalo 359 to 184 yet lost 23-20. A 2-1 turnover ratio, terrible red zone efficiency and bad special teams killed the Huskies.
- Georgia Tech out-gained Louisville 410 to 326 yet lost 31-19. A 1-0 turnover ratio did them in along with bad red zone efficiency.
- USC out-gained Michigan 397 to 322 yet lost 27-24. Equal turnovers at 2 a piece, but just bad coaching and soft offense at the end did them in.
- TCU out-gained SMU 480 to 375 yet lost 66-42. A horrible 5-1 turnover ratio and bad special teams killed the Horned Frogs.
- Cal out-gained Florida State 410 to 284 yet lost 14-9. Equal turnovers at 1 but terrible red zone efficiency killed the Bears.
- Michigan State out-gained Boston College 368 to 292 yet lost 23-19. A 4-1 turnover ratio did them in.
- New Mexico’s yards mainly garbage vs Fresno.
- Kansas State out-gained BYU 367 to 241 yet lost 38-9. A 3-0 turnover ratio and horrible special teams did in the Wildcats.
