  • Purdue out-gained Minnesota 448 to 294 yet lost 20-13.  A 2-0 turnover ratio did them in.
  • Eastern Michigan out-gained Northern Illinois 376 to 326 yet lost 27-20.  A 2-0 turnover ratio, 5 sacks and a delayed game through them off.
  • West Virginia out-gained Texas Tech 424 to 246 yet lost 23-20.  Equal turnovers and bad efficiency was the culprit.
  • Kansas State’s yards were mainly garbage time vs Oklahoma.
  • Oregon out-gained Stanford 414 to 354 yet lost in overtime 31-24.  A 1-0 turnover ratio and some questionable calls got them.
  • Boise State out-gained Nevada 410 to 393 yet lost 41-31.  A 3-0 turnover ratio did them in.
  • Army out-gained Ball State 279 to 269 yet lost 28-16.  A 2-0 turnover ratio did them in.  When Option teams turn the ball over it kills them.
  • LA Tech out-gained NC State 480 to 418 yet lost 34-27.  A 2-0 turnover ratio did them in.
  • Florida out-gained Kentucky 382 to 224 yet lost 20-13.  Ugly game and bad efficiency for Florida with 15 penalties did them in.
  • Southern Miss out-gained Rice 378 to 325 yet lost 24-19.  A 4-0 turnover ratio did them in.
  • Marshall out-gained Middle Tennessee 493 to 314 yet lost 34-28.  A 6-2 turnover ratio killed them.
  • Western Kentucky’s yards were garbage time.
  • UCONN out-gained Vanderbilt 523 to 439 yet lost 30-28.  12 Penalties did them in.
  • South Alabama out-gained Louisiana 387 to 283 yet lost 20-18.  They also won the turnover battle but just couldn’t punch it in.
  • Fresno State out-gained hawaii 505 to 348 yet lost 27-24.  A 6-1 turnover ratio destroyed them.
