College Football Week 5 Misleading Final Scores

Houston out-gained Touane 383 to 273 yet lost 27-24.  Equal turnovers but bad red-zone efficiency and 9 penalties did the Cougs in.

Texas Tech’s yards were garbage.

Northern Illinois out-gained Ball State 516 to 487 yet lost 44-38.  Equal turnovers and bad red zone defense got them.

Baylor out-gained Oklahoma State 345 to 213 yet lost 36-25.   Bad special teams and a 2-1 turnover ratio hurt them.

Oregon State’s yards were garbage.

Auburn out-gained LSU 438 to 270 yet lost 21-17.   A 4-1 turnover ratio and horrible coaching killed the Tigers.  They had this win and blew it.

Western Kentucky out-gained Troy 470 to 415 yet lost 34-27.  A 2-1 turnover ratio hurt them.

Georgia out-gained Missouri 481 to 294 yet only won 26-22.  A 2-0 turnover ratio put them on upset alert.

UAB out-gained Rice 360 to 209 yet lost 28-24.  A 2-1 turnover ratio and 12 penalties killed them.

Pitt out-gained Georgia Tech 411 to 334 yet lost 26-21.  A 3-0 turnover ratio did them in.
