English Premier League Preview & Picks – September 18, 2021

462

We’ll we finished our first week 1-1 in EPL. Given some of the feedback I’ve received, I’ll continue to pick games that will be broadcast here in the US. We have three games on tap this week with most of them involving teams at the bottom half of the table. Even though these teams are struggling right now, they still have plenty of time to turn it around as the season has just begun.

Brentford @ Wolverhampton

Information:

  • Kick-Off: 7:30 AM ET
  • Location: Molineux Stadium – Wolverhampton, England (Wolverhampton home)
  • TV Schedule: NBCSN

Odds:

  • Wolverhampton (-110)
  • Brentford (+375)
  • Draw (+220)
  • Total: 2.5 (U 2.5 -190, O +154)

Preview:

Both of these teams are currently struggling, Brentford sits at 10th in the Table, while Wolverhampton sits at 13th. Wolverhampton has a great track record against the former Championship winners, defeating them in their last four matches. However, Saturday’s contest will be the first meeting between these two teams since January 2018. Both sides are dealing with some injury issues as well which could alter the starting 11 a bit. For this game, I think Wolverhampton defeats Brentford at home in a close one.

Pick:

Wolverhampton Wolves (-110)

Arsenal @ Burnley

Information:

  • Kick-Off: 10:00 AM ET
  • Location: Turf Moor – Burnley, England (Burnely home)
  • TV Schedule: NBCSN

Odds:

  • Burnely (+280)
  • Arsenal (+100)
  • Draw (+250)
  • Total: 2.5 (U 2.5 -125, O -105)

Preview:

The Gunners have struggled early in their Premier League campaign to say the least. They’ll look to record back to back wins against another struggling club in this match. Burnley has only captured one point in their first four EPL matches and sit in relegation zone. Arsenal have struggled on the road this season, conceding seven goals and scoring none. If they look to turn that around, this is the match to do it. Burnely have struggled at home failing to win any of their last 12 games on home soil in the League. Burnley have also not beaten Arsenal at home in the EPL since the 1973-74 season. This game wont be the prettiest to watch and could end in a draw. It’ll be a low scoring affair that will most likely end 0-0 or 1-1.

Pick:

DRAW (+250)
