*CBB(1u): North Carolina State ML(-125) @ Pittsburgh–2 PM CT

These are two of the bottom-feeders in the ACC this season, but I still think NC State has some things working for them entering this afternoon’s matchup. While the Wolfpack have lost 5 straight, 4 of those losses have come to tournament teams. This team plays poor defense, but they actually rank a pretty respectable 63rd in offensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh ranks just 239th in offensive efficiency and shows no urgency to push the pace. Pitt did beat Florida State earlier this week, but the Seminoles shot just 28% from the floor; it’s going to be hard to beat anything with that poor of an output. When the Panthers face a viable offense, they are toast. I like North Carolina State to turn things around and pick up a road conference win today.

*CBB(1u): Vanderbilt +11.5(-110) @ Tennessee–5 PM CT

Tennessee picked up an impressive road win at Mississippi State earlier this week, but this is somewhat of a sandwich spot with Kentucky on the horizon this coming week. Additionally, Vanderbilt is playing pretty solid basketball themselves. The Commodores are coming off 2 straight comfortable home wins against LSU and Missouri and have proven to be competitive on the road in conference play, losing by just 7 at Kentucky and beating Arkansas outright in Bud Walton Arena. Vandy ranks 53rd in defensive efficiency and appear to have figured out some of their offensive issues here recently. Tennessee has good metrics, but this team doesn’t pass the eye test for me, especially on the offensive end of the floor. In what’s not a great spot, I don’t mind going against the Vols here and playing on a sneakily surging Vanderbilt group catching double-digits.
