The South Florida Bulls travel to the Swamp to face off with instate rivals, Florida Gators. South Florida already had a big test in their opener against a really good BYU squad. Last week they played FCS Howard where they were able to work on some concerns and prep for this week against Florida. Florida is coming off a tough loss to Kentucky but they also may be looking forward to their showdown with Tennessee next week. USF will try to run off the left side where all 3 linemen are projected to get drafted in next years NFL draft. However, it will depend on how quickly they get behind if they will be able to establish a running game. If not, it will be in the hands of Baylor’s starting QB from a season ago, Gerry Bohanon, who threw for 2200 yards and 18 touchdowns while running for 323 yards on the ground while leading the Bears to a 12-2 record last year. Florida won 42-20 last season after leading 35-3 at halftime. After half, the Gators scored 7 more points. Although Florida has a new head coach, Billy Napier, I expect a similar game this season with USF getting the backdoor cover again. The Bulls should be better prepared and improved after last season’s game and the game with BYU which is reflected by the spread being 4 points less than last season. Last years line was 28.5. This is more of a rivalry game for USF than Florida. We were able to get above the key number of 24 and 24.5 are still out there. I look for the Bulls to come out improved and keep this one within 24 points. Take USF +24.5
