Hello All,

Don’t let March sadness get you down, sit back and relax and watch some horses. As the county is fighting off the Coronavirus,  In California, we are still racing horses. I haven’t been writing articles, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been handicapping, going to the track, or looking for value plays to improve my handicapping abilities.  I have decided to get my feet wet today and give out a pick at a small racetrack in Northern California where there is value in some times not taking the favorite.

Let’s dive into some of these races:

Race 1: One Mile For Four Year Olds and Upward which have not won two races

Well no surprise here, but the 6th horse looks prim to win this one, with losing by half a length on Feb 19th against restricted company.  This horse loves to be on the lead, but if it can hold on is yet to be seen.

Next is a no brainer also, the one horse is dropping in class from 8,000 Clm to 3200 Clm N2Y, that may work out for him today if he could also hold onto the lead coming down the stretch.

Next horse is kind of a sneaky pick that could run down the two top picks, the 3 horse, stretching out today from 5 1/2 F to a mile. This horse shows that it is improving late in the race, and with a perfectly timed ride, this horse could come out of nowhere and run down the favorites who have no late speed.

Race 4: Five Furlongs Md 8000 For Maidens, Three Year Old.

Who needs a little Jamason (4) in their lives right now, and this horse looks like he will deliver. The last race came in second and seems to be facing a much weaker field.

Another horse that will be overbet will be the 7th horse Zinzan. From trainer,  Jonathan Wong, morning line favorite, has a really good shot with this horse.  For the meet, Wong is (182 52 40 32) 28.6 % and these numbers can’t be ignored.

Race 8 5 1/2 F For Fillies OC50k/N1X

Well, to bring you home with the last race on the card at GG.

Let start with the obvious choice in this race:

the 2 horse Bulletproof One, Peter Miller shipper, blew the doors off the competition last time out, winning by 5. The horse proves that it has no problem with the tapeta surface. When a Miller horse arrives at GG, you include the horse on the ticket.

But you want value:

Here is a long shot: Pentewan (GB) 7 horse, 6-1 morning line. This horse has been racing overseas and verse a variety of different company. Its first race at GG was a good win at   6 F, it is cutting back to 5 1/2 F, not much but will help. This horse is working well and could win and be a big upset.
