The Raptors have played really good basketball in the month of January, but given how they’ve approached this road trip, I think this is the spot we start to see the wheels fall off. This will be the 3rd game in 4 nights for Toronto after playing road games in Detroit and Milwaukee. Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet played 40 minutes each in both of those games; OG Anunoby played 36 and 39 minutes, respectively. To push your starters that hard and then pair that with a 3rd game in 4 nights WITH travel is simply not a sustainable recipe for success. Miami is 1-1 on their current homestand, and while this is a 3rd game in 4 nights for them, there has been no travel involved for the Heat. I would’ve loved to have Kyle Lowry in tonight, but I think the Heat have enough guard depth to compensate for this game. This is a clear opportunity to fade Toronto; I’ll lay the short number with Miami.
