*MLB(1u): Dodgers TT OVER 5.5(-110) vs Nationals–2:10 PM CT

At this point, I think Patrick Corbin can best be described as a glorified pitching machine. The lefty is enduring his 3rd straight atrocious season as a National, carrying a 6.02 ERA and 1.70 WHIP into today’s start. On the road, his numbers worsen to a 7.38 ERA and 1.86 WHIP.

The Dodgers have lost the first two games of this series, but facing a lefty in Corbin is a much different type of matchup than facing a former top prospect like righty Josiah Gray. The Dodgers swept the Giants this weekend and swung the bats well, so two down games is not enough for me to say they’re in “bad current form”. Facing lefties at home this year, the Dodgers hold a very good 116 wRC+.

As insurance, the Nationals have a bottom 10 bullpen in baseball. To be quite honest with you, that point might be mute considering how many crooked numbers Corbin gives up early in games.

*MLB(1u): Marlins F5 TT UNDER 1.5(-110) @ Reds–5:40 PM CT

Luis Castillo is almost assuredly making his last start as a Red, and it couldn’t be coming in a better spot. This Marlins offense is absolutely putrid with Jazz Chisholm, Jorge Soler, Brain Anderson, and Garrett Cooper all out of the lineup. Miami has been shut out in 4 of their last 8 games and is scoring just over 2 runs/game during that span.

Castillo has pitched like an All Star since the middle of last season. He carries a 2.77 ERA and 1.08 WHIP into tonight’s start, is allowing less than 0.6 HR/9 as well as just 6.5 hits per 9 innings. I like this spot for the highly-sought-after righty.
