Cubs vs Cardinals -133
What’s Memorial weekend without baseball? Last night, the Cardinals beat the Cubs in the bottom of the ninth due to poor pitching and poor fielding. The weather forecast tonight calls for 70 degrees with a chance of rain. The wind is blowing out tonight at 10MPH. Javier Assad takes the mound for the Cubs. He is having a solid year at a 1.7 ERA and a 3.6 FIP. Sunny Gray is the man for the Cardinals who is also having a good year with a 2.87 ERA and a 2.96 FIP. As bad as Chicago’s bullpen is, they still rank 16th in FIP to the Cardinals ranking 9th. The Cubs batting has fallen back to the pack due to injuries, but I expect some positive regression now that Dansby Swanson and Nico Hoerner are back in the lineup. The Cardinals only rank 20th in wRC+ themselves this year. I think that the Cubs fight today. They need to pick themselves out of a slump. It’s a good day to back the Cubbies and I will take the + money.
