Tigers vs Athletics -165 O/U 8 (-120)
I am going to keep this a little short and sweet. Both of these teams are not known for offense but there has been some improvement thus far for the Tigers who went from ranking 25th in weighted runs created + to 13th so far this year. Oakland has actually regressed from 15th to 24th respectively but what I am looking at is the pitching in this situation. The wind is blowing out at a modest 8 miles per hour in Oaktown and Detroit Pitcher Tarik Skubal has a bad 7.4 FIP to start the season with a 62% fly ball rate. Skubal’s FB% in 2020 was also high at 54%. I can see some home runs being hit by the Athletics today. I also think that Detroit can put up some runs due to the fact that Oakland’s bullpen has been bad and starting pitcher Sean Manaea is a lefty while the Tigers had the number 1 WRC+ against LFP away last year at 163. Gonna take the over 8 runs.
