San Francisco vs Pittsburgh +108 O/U 7.5
The Giants blew it last night and they know it. Being up 1-0 for most of the game, only to blow it in the 9th and force extra innings spelled disaster for this team. Lets take a look at the pitching matchup today. John Cueto will be taking the mound today with a very nice 3.15 FIP and a 3.52 ERA over 23 innings this year. Lefty Tyler Anderson will be pitching for the pirates who himself has a great 3.13 FIP and a 3.05 ERA. What I like about the Giants here is that they were number 3 last year vs left handed pitching at a 127 wRC+ and a solid .358 wOBA and this year they are a modest 16th. Johnny Cueto has a lifetime record of 21-4 vs the Pirates with an ERA of 2.13. Pittsburgh still has batting problems tied for dead last in wRC+. Gonna go with the vet Cueto with the short number on the road.

Do we trust the Padres without Tatis? I am not totally sure but I do know that Cardinal’s pitcher Adam Wainwright hasn’t exactly been amazing as of late sporting a 4.02 FIP. That is pretty average if you ask me. Chris Paddack is pitching for the Padres and he has taking a big step forward from last year’s FIP of 5.02 down to 3.03 so far this year over 26 innings. I think his true capabilities are somewhere in the middle. I think there is some positive regression in store for the Padres run scoring capabilities being that they have the 3rd most runners left on base. I like how they have been hitting lately in 4 of their last 5 games with 5 or more runs. I still do not completely trust Chris Paddack but I can see this game going over the total with the wind blowing out to left field.
