Atlanta Braves @ New York Yankees 6:35pm est PICK(Over 9)
The Yankees are playing bad. There is no other way to put it. They are batting on average .210 as a team with only 16 home runs. This is not the New York team were are used to seeing, and their record shows. They are currently riding a five game losing streak, and need their bats to wake up now. But here is the good news. Baseball is a marathon, and these players know it. Game 1 in a home series, against a solid team, is a good chance to flip the script. Taillon and Morton are two pitchers here who could let the game get away quick. Taillon has given up three homers in eight innings pitched. The Yankees are looking to start a surge, so their offense could come alive in game 1.
San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies 7:05pm est PICK(Phillies-153)
Zack Wheeler is set to take the mound again in game 2 against the Giants. He is currently 1-2, and holds an ERA of 3.00. He will be facing Logan Webb, who is 0-1, with a 4.76 ERA. Zack Wheeler has shown signs the he is going to be the Phillies ace this year, he opened the season of going 2-0, and posting terrific numbers in those two starts. The Phillies were able to catch fire behind him as well, going 6-1 to start the season. They have since down cooled off, and are coming off a loss last night to the Giants, 2-0. It is hard to see the Phillies go down again to San Fransisco, especially after putting up a goose egg. The Phillies should be able to rally behind Wheeler, and get some runs.
Milwaukee Brewers @ San Diego Padres 10:10pm est PICK (Padres-115)
Can it be any harder to watch a Padres game as a fan? They have been in every game this year, and very easily could be undefeated. Yes I said it undefeated, but they strand too many runners on base. In the opening series against the Dodgers, they failed to execute and get the runs in twice to win the game. It is hard to watch, but it is not as bad as it seems. The Padres are there, every night, in every game. If “Strand Diego” can manage to get those runners in that they constantly leave on base, they would be winning way more games. The Brewers pitching staff has been dominant, and it could be rough day for the Friars lineup, but the tide has to change eventually. Look for the Padres to start to break this trend of stranding runners on the base path.
Texas Rangers @ Los Angeles Angels 9:30pm est PICK(Angels-210)
The Rangers were able to open this series with a win 6-4 in game 1. Texas has the innate ability to score, but majority of their runs only come in their wins. When Texas loses, they lose, and they will look bad doing it. They struggle to keep games close, and if it gets out of hand, their offensive becomes very one dimensional. With Shohei Ohtani on the bump, and Los Angeles seeking to even the series out, the Angels should be able to secure a home win in this spot.
