NBA Picks and Predictions – April 29, 2021

Steph Curry, angry on the hardwood.

The Nuggets kept us from a perfect night Wednesday, even though they led by margin the entire game, but I can’t complain about a 3-1 night. We’re 3 months and 287 picks into NBA betting and we’re still hitting at 57%. Not too shabby. Let’s keep it rollin’!

Lean, Nets -5 (-115): This line is down to 5 because Kyrie is out tonight but I would still lean the Brooklyn side. The Pacers are a desperate team looking to hang onto their playoff berth and they’re at home, so it’s not worth a wager for me, but the Nets have plenty of firepower to overwhelm mid-tier Indiana. The Pacers are also very injured and Durant is looking like himself again. Almost talking myself into this bet, but just a lean for now.

Warriors team total over 118.5 (-115), 2.5 units: Remember when the Warriors only scored 12 points in the 1st quarter and 29 points in the first half? Same. Remember what happened after that? They scored 35 in the 3rd and 39 in the 4th and the game soared over. I expect Golden State to have the same energy tonight. They have a few injuries– Kelly Oubre Jr. is doubtful and Paschal and Wiseman are out, but they still have plenty of weapons, not to mention an angry Steph Curry, to light up this scoreboard. Golden State is 2nd in the NBA in tempo and Minnesota is 4th; that will only stimulate the Warriors scoring ability. Minnesota is also 28th in points allowed. All the ingredients are there for a ridiculously high scoring game– I just like the Warriors team total more. Hammer it, and hope some freak incident like a Curry injury doesn’t happen.

Lean Nuggets -4 (-110): I’m really trying here guys but man, the NBA can be so frustrating. Tons of injuries or just guys electing to sit out. It’s just dumb. I’ll lean the Nuggets side tonight but I can’t make it an official play. Denver is plagued by injuries once again, even though Porter Jr. is playing, and Jokic will have to hold the team on his shoulders like he always does. And probably will. Denver is winning games but just like we saw Wednesday, they won’t necessarily cover. Not a play for me but the Nuggets “should” win this running away.
