NHL Preview & Picks – January 31st, 2022

737

Didn’t have time for a full breakdown today so just two picks on the night.

PICK #1: EDMONTON OILERS 60 MINUTE LINE (-125)

The Oilers have seemed to have gotten out of their slump rattling off four wins in a row. Evander Kane seems to be fitting in quite well, scoring in his debut for them. They faced Ottawa earlier this season during their 7 game losing streak where they lost 6-4. However, tonight’s a different story, the Senators are the ones struggling and face a red hot Oilers team looking to make a playoff push. As previously mentioned, Ottawa struggled in their last two games and have a ton of injuries. While Edmonton struggles defensively I don’t think the Senators offense is that potent and they should be able to limit their scoring opportunities.

PICK #2: TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS 60 MINUTE LINE (-185)

New Jersey struggles to generate offense and average even less goals on the road. They also aren’t great defensively and face a high powered offense tonight. In Toronto’s last 10 games they’re averaging 4.00 Goals For. To make matters worse for New Jersey, Akira Schmid is starting in net for them with a 5.00 GAA. Jack Campbell is starting in net for Toronto who has been one of the best goalies in the NHL. The Maple Leafs should be able to take care of the Devils at home here.
