What a series, this has been between the Golden Knights of Las Vegas and the Minnesota Wild. The Golden Knights came into this series as the 2nd seed in the West behind the Colorado Avalanche who won the Presidents trophy. Vegas actually tied the Avalanche with the most points at 82 but, Colorado won due to the head to head matchups. The Wild also exceeded expectations this year with their young core rallying to grab the 3rd seed.
Minnesota Wild (+155) @ Vegas Golden Knights (-175)
The Wild come into Game 7 with all of the momentum after winning back to back elimination games behind the stellar performance of Cam Talbot. Talbot has stopped 61 out 63 shots in the past two games for an average of +1.58 GSAx. He has a +2.5 GSAx for all of the playoffs making him the 7th best goalie in that category. Marc Andre Fleury is expected to start as of now but that could change as Robin Lehner may get to nod to try and provide a spark for Vegas. Fleury has been great all playoffs with a +3.0 GSAx but Vegas’ offense has been shut down. The Golden Knights desperately need Max Pacioretty back in their lineup. Pacioretty and Tomas Nosek are both currently listed as game time decisions. In addition to injuries, Vegas’ forwards Ryan Reaves and Peyton Krebs joined Brayden McNabb on the NHL’s COVID Protocol List. This series has been extremely tight leading to low scoring games. In the final game of this series, I think there’s some value on the under tonight based off the goaltender performances we’ve seen.
