Feels like we’re gaining steam! Three straight winning nights, 8-3 overall, and for the most part we’re staying away from bets where there’s very little value. That’s a HUGE part of successful handicapping people– avoiding lines that are sharp and those games where it’s too close to call. Onto Wednesday, which has a giant NBA card!
NBA Picks:
- Lean, Hornets +7
- I can’t play against the Celtics right now but I have a sneaky feeling about this one. This is a pretty decent letdown spot for Boston after a big win against Brooklyn. Charlotte’s off a B2B but they need to win, and NOW. Desperation keeps players motivated- I wouldn’t bet on Boston here.
- Bulls -6, 1 unit
- This feels like an “explosion spot” for Chicago. As pedestrian as their defense is, they have the length to limit Detroit tonight. And as improved as Detroit has looked, their defense is no match for a motivated LaVine, DeRozan, and hopefully Vucevic gets his in this contest, too. The Bulls can’t afford to lose games like this leading up to the playoffs and their schedule is far from easy down the stretch. This is a play-on spot for me, but I wouldn’t take it over 6.
- Heat TT over 112.5, 1.5 units
- I don’t know if Miami can cover this line, but there’s a high probability that the Heat drop a TON of points against the Suns tonight. Phoenix is off a B2B, this is their third road game in 4 days, and as disciplined and steady as Monty Williams’ team is, this is a fully healthy Heat team, at home, off rest, and they’re primed to prove why they’re a big time contender against a Western elite. Oh yea, and Kyle Lowry returns for his second game after an ice-cold st game back. He’ll perform better – Rocket ships for Miami! Take it up to 115.
- Timberwolves TT over 122.5, 1.5 units
- I know maybe these team totals are getting old, but how can the OKC Thunder, off a blowout loss last night, stop this juggernaut Timberwolves offense? They won’t be able to. I’d take it up to 125.
- Jokic PAR Prop over 51, 1 unit:
- Will Barton could sit this one and the Kings should give Jokic plenty of soft space to work – this sets up as a big Nikola Jokic game.
- Jazz TT over 117.5, 1.5 units
- Okay, one more team total. If the Jazz can’t annihilate THIS version of the Blazers, something’s seriously, seriously wrong in the Utah locker room. Mitchell and Gobert should feast, and the Jazz should not take this game lightly at home; they need to stack wins before the postseason. I’d take this up to 119.5.
