We have four Kentucky Derby Prep Races taking place on Saturday, February 3rd. I’ll break down each field and offer my picks for the Southwest Stakes, Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Holy Bull Stakes, and Withers Stakes.
These stakes races serve as important early prep races for three-year-olds on their journey to the Kentucky Derby, attracting top-class horses and jockeys. They play a significant role in shaping the field for the Triple Crown races, making them a key event in the racing calendar. The top five finishers for each race are awarded Derby qualifying points (20-10-6-4-2). To see the leaderboard for the 2024 Kentucky Derby Contenders, you can click the following link.
