The Preakness is here today and it looks a heck of a lot like rain. There are two mudders in this race in the 3 horse in the Kentucky Derby Champion Mystic Dan and the 2 horse Uncle Henry who won at the Withers back in February. Just because of the track conditions, you will see money come in on both. I think our opportunity to bet Mystic Dan came and went two weeks ago at Churchill. This horse will be going off at 8/5 or at 2/1 at best which won’t make your winning tickets worth all that much after you chug your last Bourbon for the day. I honestly think that this field of horses are pretty equal minus the 1 horse Mugatu who is a toss in the one hole and the 6 horse Seize the Gray who is there just for the party. I am going to go for prices at the top. The 7 horse Just Steel has a good price around 10/1 due to his poor Derby finish at 17th. This horse was bumped early, but he did finish well on a sloppy track right behind Mystic Dan in the Southwest G3. My favorite horse for the price is the 8 horse in Tuscan Gold. He should be going off at 5/1 today due to the Muth Scratch. This horse is lightly raced and has been showing some big improvements in his speed figures. His Jockey Tyler Gaffalione is a good ROI and will know how to race on a sloppy track. I have a few saver tickets as well, and a 2/7 exacta wouldn’t be too bad either. Best of luck everyone!
