Let’s have some fun today betting the ponies. Gonna key in on a few horses in each race and try to hit some small scores. I will write down my thoughts on each one below.
For the Santa Anita, I honestly think Baffert chalk is the only way to go here. This is his home track and good ole Bob has a chip on his shoulder serving out his last year of Churchill suspension. The 4 horse “Imagination” is a rightful favorite who has been running extremely well winning two out of his last three races with Brisnet speed figures in the 90s. I also think that Baffort’s 5 horse “Wynstock” is in play and at a much nicer 8-1 price due to his last race being a disaster. Hoping for him to pull it out.

This brings us to the Wood Memorial where I think that this is a two horse race between “Deterministic” who has shown great speed in his only two races winning them both and “Tuscan Sky.” Deterministic has the biggest speed figures here, but is going off at a rough 7/5. I am hoping he is bested by a Pletcher horse in Tuscan Sky. This horse also only has two races winning them both with a nice speed of 97 from Brisnet. This horse is at a better 4-1 price. Small investment here.

We are finally at the Blue Grass Stakes where I see more opportunity with the larger handle and a 10 horse field. Hoping to make some good money. No pun intended. The 11 horse Encino is scratched. I truly believe that everyone is going to be on the 6 horse “Just a touch” due to his sire being the only and only Justify. I am gonna try and not let the favorites beat me yet key on the number 5 horse “Good Money.” This is a one of three Chad Brown horses that is lightly raced, and part of the photo finish at the Tampa Bay Derby where he had the lead and ended up fourth. Good money will have an experienced Jockey in Javier Castellano pushing him to try and close out this race. If this horse hits, we should be looking pretty good.
