Jailton Almeida vs Alexandr Romanov +260
Ok, I know that everyone wants to use Jailton Almeida in their parlays and all. I think that we need to pump the breaks on that. Jailton Almeida at 20-3 is a brazilian jiu-jitsu beast who loves to tire down his opponent until he gets his hooks in for a sub. Twelve of his twenty wins were by submission while seven of them were mainly ground and pound. Jailton also has proven that he can take down the best guys in the heavy weight division when he beat Derek Lewis in 5 rounds and he took down Curtis Blaydes 9 times before being knocked out. In saying all that, there are issues. Almeida has a very poor stand up game, and if he can’t wrestle his way into a victory, his chances of winning become quite slim. Alexandr Romanov is a big man and he fights almost like a Bear. He is the max weight for heavy weight at 265 pounds and he can wrestle! In Romanov’s 17 wins in his 18-2 record, he has 6 KOs, 9 submissions and 2 decisions. He has NEVER been submitted before in his professional career. Alexandr’s only two losses was a majority decison to Marcin Tybura and once being knocked out by Volkov. This tells me that Romanov can possible hang with Almeida, and if Jailton gasses, this will be Romanov’s fight to win. Maybe the bigger issue is that Almeida should be a light heavy weight fighter at 205 rather than fighting at 241 pounds after some big meals. Jailton might struggle trying to wrestle a wrestler weighting 25 lbs more than him. Don’t think that Alexandr doesn’t know what is coming. The price is wrong in this fight and I make Jailton only -200 in this bout.
