Tonight we have a pretty good event with some big named fighters and some ones more up and coming. The Main event drew my attention right away when I saw the numbers. Both fighters happen to be from Africa , both fighting in Australia in the wee hours in the morning. Israel Adesanya (Izzy) is a very accomplished fighter. He wants to become champion again after he lost his belt just about a year ago to Sean Strickland. Dricus (DDP) may be good enough to not let it happen. He is 21-2 and he keeps improving his game. Now Izzy the Style Bender will have a 3 inch height and a 4 inch reach advantage, but that is about it. DDP lands 6.49 significant strikes per minute to Izzy at 3.93. Izzy’s defense is better for sure, but his grappling has always been the problem. IF DDP isn’t doing well on his feet, he will take this fight to the ground averaging three take downs per 15 minutes. Izzy has a good take down defense, but this fight is five rounds and I expect DDP to have the upper hand. Another issue that I have with Izzy is that his emotions do not seem right. He started crying during his interview, and that made me think that he can make some poor decisions in big situations. I would not be surprised if he does catch DDP with a right cross, but I think that the value is on the champ.
