Anthony Smith vs Ryan Spann +140

This is going to be a decent light heavyweight fight between Anthony Smith who has been there done that and Ryan Spann who very up and coming.   Looking at Smith’s record at 35-16, one would think the guy was 39 years old.   He is actually only 33 and somewhat in the prime of his career.   Ryan Spann has been rolling through the UFC with a few decent wins such as Misha Cirkunov, Sam Alvey and Devin Clark.  Ok, well kinda decent wins anyways.  Both of these fighters can do it all and they are pretty close on their metrics if you factor in Anthony Smith’s strength of his previous opponents.   As a matter of fact, that is what this handicap is all about.  Strength of opponents.  Anthony Smith is 9-4 in his last 13 fights with wins vs boarder-line tier 1 fighters such as Volkan Oezdemir, Jimmy Crute, and Alexander Gustafsson.  His 4 losses were to Thiago Santos, Glover Teixeira, Aleksandar Rakic and Jon Bones Jones!  Can we really punish him for that?  This fight is only Ryan Spann’s 7th fight in the UFC and he had a poor performance almost losing to Sam Alvey and a nasty loss by KO to an over-rated Johnny Walker.  I think the -160 price might be a little low for Anthony Smith as I believe that he is the better all around fighter here.  Gonna lay the juice for 2U.

Anthony Smith -160 – 2 stars

Let’s go small on Devin Clark here.  If he could survive the first round vs Ion Cutelaba, he could win this fight.  Ion the “Hulk” has to knock people out to win and Clark has seen a lot of that and should know how to defend it.   Clark is more susceptible to submission and that is something that isn’t in Ion’s playbook.  If Ion doesn’t finish in the 1st round and a half, he gets gassed and is much more susceptible.  Clark needs this one pretty bad.

Devin Clark +140 – 1 star

Instead I like to think of myself as a great compiler of information who specializes in the Big 10, but also handicaps all NFL, NCAA football, UFC, Basketball, Horse Racing and more! I encourage people to specialize in a conference or division that will help give them the greatest edge in their sports wagers. I am never against a person betting against their favorite teams when the situation is right.
