*NFL(1u): Panthers +3.5(-110) vs Saints–Sunday 12 PM CT
The Saints had one of the surprise performances from the weekend by absolutely demolishing Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Green Bay became one-dimensional offensively, and Rodgers simply had an off-day. The Saints offense looked sharp, but we’ll see if Jameis Winston can remain consistent week-to-week(I would tend to lean that he won’t). Carolina might’ve only beat the Jets by 5, but that doesn’t tell the full story of that game; they had complete control from start to finish. Christian McCaffrey is so versatile coming out of the backfield and will give QB Sam Darnold some breathing room in helping move the offense. With Darnold settled in after his first win in his new home, I think he’ll settle in a bit and start letting his talent take over. The oddsmakers are BEGGING you to take the 3-and-a-hook with the Panthers. I’m going to take a stand and take the points.
*NFL(1u): Titans +6.5(-110) @ Seahawks–Sunday 3:25 PM CT
Calling a spade a spade, the Titans looked miserable in Week 1. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense got whatever they wanted, and the Titans OL(specifically Taylor Lewan) left the backfield with no time to run the offense. All that being said, if you were catching this many points with the Titans before last week’s performance, would you take them? The Titans have had blowup performances like last week in the past and have found ways to respond and adjust. As long as Russell Wilson is at the helm, Seattle will be a tough matchup. However, I think we see an emphasis from Tennessee on getting things cleaned up, leading to a close game.
*NFL ML Parlay(1u): Steelers ML vs Raiders/Rams ML @ Colts(+107)–Sunday 12 PM CT
The Steelers host the Raiders, who are coming off a dramatic Monday night win against Baltimore. I told y’all last week that the Steelers defense was still somehow being overlooked; as good as Derek Carr and the Raiders looked in Week 1, this is objectively a much harder matchup. With RB Josh Jacobs out, I expect the Raiders to become pretty one dimensional in the passing game, which isn’t a great game plan against a defense like Pittsburgh’s. Big Ben is obviously well past his prime, but he’s plenty capable of managing this game and moving the Steelers to 2-0. The Rams head to Indianapolis this week after dusting the Bears on SNF. Sean McVay now has his style of QB leading the way in Matthew Stafford; I believe last week is just the beginning of what should be a great season for them. The Colts didn’t put up much of a fight against the Seahawks last week, and I can’t say I have too much confidence that they’ll adjust well to this matchup.
