Lakers -1 (-115), 1.5 units: The Lakers were on a very busy schedule last week, playing 5 games in 8 days. That stretch ended with an upset loss against Golden State, who came back from a 20 point deficit to get the W. The Bucks are still probably the best team in the East, but like a lot of teams they don’t match up well against LAL. Anthony Davis called his team out after their loss to the Warriors, which I love, and I think Lebron and Davis and the whole Lakers’ squad plays with a lot of fire tonight, edging the Bucks late.
Pelicans/Jazz under 217.5 (-110), 1 unit: The Pelicans are a new team. Instead of wild fast breaks and transition three-point shots, they’re committed to playing a methodical pace and stout defense. The Jazz are one of the best defensive teams in the league, allowing only 105 ppg, #3 in the NBA. This should be a hard-fought battle in the trenches (Gobert vs. Zion, oh my) that totals just over 200 points. Look at an in-game under bet if these two teams score a lot early.
