Memphis vs Houston -10 O/U 134.5
This is a very interesting game to me because both of these teams are essentially tied for 2nd place in the AAC. This is a pace war with Memphis ranking in the top 33 in pace while Houston Ranks 308th. It is hard to predict motivation here being that both of these teams are locked into the 2 and 3 seeds in the AAC tournament. There really isn’t a prize for second place in the American conference but what I will say is that Memphis has been playing better basketball and they will want to win this game as much as Houston will want to crush Memphis to show they are the best team in the AAC. These teams played each other twice last year and both games went under by a lot not even getting to 122 points. It’s really shocking to me that Memphis’s defense ranks number 1 on Kenpom and Bart Torvik. I really don’t believe that being in this conference but I do think that both teams will step up their defense against each other. Houston being at home will frustrate Memphis and try to play a slower paced game. I agree with that strategy. Memphis has turnover problems which could make them in a compromised position vs such a good Houston team. Being that I think the pace will be slow in this game, I have look at the under but I would also not be opposed to a second half over middle situation if the numbers are right.
