Shane Burgos vs Edson Barbosa +115

This should be a great fight in the men’s featherweight class.   We have an up and coming Shane Burgos who is young and hungry at 30 years old vs veteran Edson Barbosa.   Edson is 21-9 and has lost 5 of his last 7 fights while Shane is 13-2 losing only 1 out of his last 4.  Burgos has the much better stats at 7.31 significant strikes per minute to Edson’s 3.98.  Both fighters are mainly stand-up and will both go to the ground when they have to.   Edson has actually dropped down a weight class from lightweight due to his body type and strength.  Edson is 1-1 so far at 145 losing a split decision to Dan Ige.  The big thing for me in this fight is the level of competition both of them have faced.  Edson has faced the best of the best losing to Justin Gaethje and Kabib as well as beating some of the best in Anthony Pettis and Beniel Dariush.  Shane Burgos lost his last fight against Josh Emmit and his best win was only agaist Makwan Amirkhani whome Barbosa also won.  I am going to take experience over youth here being that there is only 5 years that separate these 2 and I also get + money.

Edson Barbosa +115 – 3 stars

Katlyn Chookagian vs Viviane Araujo +120

This is an interesting fight here because the more experienced contender is actually younger.   Katlyn is 15-4 at 32 years old while Viviane is 10-2 at 34.  Looking at how these fighers match up, the first thing that comes to mind is that this fight is going the distance.   Viviane has a total of 5 fights in the UFC with her last 4 going to decision while Katlyn has went to a decision 14 times out of her 19 fights.  Twelve of Katlyn’s wins are by decision and her only losses have been against the best in the flyweight class.  Both fighters share losses to Jessica Eye but you can clearly see that Katlyn has fought against much better competition with losses to fighters like Valentiva Shevchenko and wins against Jennifer Maia and Joanne Calderwood.  I think experience plays a big part here but I also think that Viviane will go the distance being that her only loss by KO or Submission was back in 2017.  Taking Chookagian to win by points/decision.

Katlyn Chookagian +100 – 1 star

Charles Oliveira vs Michael Chandler +110

Ok, I have finally made a decision on this fight.   Michael Chandler was certainly a head-scratcher to me seeing how long he fought in the Bellator without moving to the UFC as well as some of his losses but it all makes more sense to me after watching a few of his fights.   Chandler’s loss to Patricio Freire in 2019 was certainly an unjust one.  Chandler got hit in the head and went down due to his own momentum more than being dazed and the ref stopped that fight for no reason whatsoever.  Chandler’s next loss to Brent Primus in 2017 was due to a doctor stoppage and we have to go way back to 2014 when he was just learning to fight for his other 3 let downs.  I watched Chandler beat Dan Hooker with ease and he looked like he was ready to make the next step.  Charles Oliveira on the other hand is certainly a great fighter but he seemed to have caught some of his best opponents when they were out of their prime, such as Tony Ferguson and Nick Lentz.   I see a knockout brewing here and I think Chandler can win this one early.

Michael Chandler to win inside the distance +150 – 1 star

Instead I like to think of myself as a great compiler of information who specializes in the Big 10, but also handicaps all NFL, NCAA football, UFC, Basketball, Horse Racing and more! I encourage people to specialize in a conference or division that will help give them the greatest edge in their sports wagers. I am never against a person betting against their favorite teams when the situation is right.
