NBA Playoff Picks and Predictions – June 10, 2021

Kevin Durant on the court.

This will be a super quick article (it’s my wedding weekend and stepping away for a second is TOUGH) but I can’t not put out an article today about these two games. Here are my picks for the Thursday slate of NBA action:

Nets alt line -2 (+155), 1.5 units: Nothing in the first two games made me think that the Bucks can hang with the Nets in this series. Up until this matchup, Giannis and his Bucks’ teammates looked like they were ready to take the playoffs by storm. But in the first 2 contests they’ve looked completely deflated. Middleton can’t make a shot, Giannis can’t make a free throw, and Milwaukee looks completely intimidated by Brooklyn. Look for another big game from Durant on the road; he won’t mind all the boos. I like a big game from him (check out props) and I lean to the over, too. Nets might sweep this series.

Clippers/Jazz under 222.5 (-110), 1.5 units: We’ll try this again. Yes indeed, stars light up this series with their prowess and fame but these two teams have fantastic defenses and I see that being the story tonight. LAC knows they have to slow down Donovan Mitchell if they have a shot at winning this series and while Kawhi had a great game one, expect the Jazz to adjust and make life harder for “the Claw.” Games twos are arguably more importantly than the first meeting and I can see this having that pressure-filled “must win” feel. In what should be a back and forth battle, I like it to fly under.
