*MLB(1u): Phillies/Nationals OVER 9.5(-105)–6:05 PM CT
For as many guys as the Nationals traded away at the deadline, you have to give them credit for the way they’ve swung the bats in the month of August. In 26 games since the trade deadline, they’ve managed to average 4.5 runs/game despite featuring many guys who are not major-league ready. They were able to crack Zack Wheeler for 4 runs last night, so tonight’s matchup with Matt Moore(6.12 ERA, 1.55 WHIP) shouldn’t present much of a challenge. That being said, Nationals SP Patrick Corbin has had an equally bad season(6.09 ERA, 1.40 WHIP) and has completely lost the trust he had from bettors just a few seasons ago. The Phillies have had their struggles against lefties in the month of August, but since June 1st, they’ve hit .264 with 19 HR’s against lefties on the road. Neither bullpen is trustworthy, and I’m almost certain that we’ll see runs scored late in this game. This total is simply too low given the pitching matchup.
