College Football Week 9 Misleading Final Scores

Pittsburgh out-gained Miami 587 to 490 yet lost 38-14.  A 2-1 turnover ratio and 4 sacks killed them.

Michigan out-gained Michigan State 552 to 395 yet lost 37-33.  Equal turnovers but bad field position on those turnovers really had the effect for Michigan.

Buffalo out-gained Bowling Green 499 to 484 yet lost 56-14.  A 2-0 turnover ratio and bad 3rd down converstions got them.

Rice out-gained North Texas 368 to 314 yet lost 30-24.  A 2-0 turnover ratio got them

Arizona State’s yards were garbage time.

Nebraska out-gained Purdue 399-349 yet lost 28-23.  A 4-0 turnover ratio.  What else is new?

Louisiana Tech out-gained Old Dominion 335 to 311 yet lost 23-20.  They also won turnover battle 0-2 but lack of explosiveness and 3rd down efficiency got them.

Wyoming’s yards were garbage time.

Georgia Southern out-gained Georgia State 486 to 378 yet lost 21-14.  A 2-0 turnover ratio with an option team got them.  Bad 4th down as well.

UTEP out-gained Florida Atlantic 437 to 279 yet lost 28-25.  A 2-0 turnover ratio got them with horrible 3rd down converstions.

Louisville out-gained NC State 434 to 361 yet lost 28-13.  A 1-0 turnover ratio and bad 3rd down efficiency.  Predictable plays

North Carolina out-gained Notre Dame 564 to 523 yet lost 44-34.  1-0 turnover ratio and penalties got them.
