Porter Moser was a massive success at Loyola Chicago, but it’s incorrect to assume he’ll have this Sooners team clicking here in Year 1. I have Oklahoma as a fringe tournament team this season, but if I’m being quite honest, I’d lean towards them not making the tournament. Moser’s teams tend to rely much more on defensive efficiency than offensive prowess; while that recipe worked at Loyola Chicago, it’s not a style that’s necessarily conducive to covering big spreads like this one. With this game being in Myrtle Beach, it is essentially a glorified home game for ECU. The Pirates aren’t a strong team overall, but they have shown enough on the offensive end(82.7 PPG) to where I think they’ll be able to keep this game tight. Oklahoma is a work in progress in year 1 under Moser, especially this early in the season. I’ll grab those 13 points with East Carolina.
