*CBB(1u): St Joseph’s 1H -1(-110) vs La Salle–Noon PM CT

While La Salle beat St Joe’s twice during the regular season, St Joe’s led by 9 and 12 at Halftime in those 2 meetings. St Joe’s might be 1-2 in their last 3 games, but those 2 losses came by a combined 3 points; in their last game, the Hawks picked up a double-digit home win against Rhode Island. I power-rate St Joseph’s 4 points better than La Salle on a neutral court, and I think they finally get over the hump and beat the Explorers from start to finish. However, I think this 1H play is safer given that they have come out hot against La Salle twice already and haven’t held up well in the 2H.

*CBB(1u): Northwestern -5(-110) vs Nebraska–5 PM CT

The public loves Nebraska after they picked up road wins against Ohio State and Wisconsin this past week, but I think some context is needed around those wins. Ohio State played Nebraska early in the week and almost certainly was looking ahead to matchups with Michigan State and Michigan later in the week. In one of the wilder moves I’ve ever seen, Wisconsin celebrated a conference championship with a win over Purdue before they even clinched the outright Big 10 title, setting themselves up for the ultimate letdown spot this past Sunday. At this time of the year, those let-down/look-ahead spots are out of play; every game could be your last. Northwestern beat these Cornhuskers by 24 and 12 in the regular season and enters this game off of a 13 point win against Minnesota. Nebraska has everybody’s full attention, and as such, I believe they will revert back to playing like the team that was 1-16 in conference play just last week. Don’t buy into the hype; Northwestern -5 is the play.

*NBA(1u): Wizards +4(-110) @ Clippers–9:30 PM CT

The Clippers have been feisty as sizable underdogs this season, but laying this many points is not their role. Given this is the second game of a back-to-back(with travel) and 3rd game in 4 nights for them, I feel good about playing against them here. The Wizards are sneakily playing well at the moment, winning 2 of their last 3. Sure, those wins came against the Pistons and Pacers, but they also played the Hawks to a 3 point game. In the first game of this road trip and catching the Clippers in poor current form, I think the Wizards keep this one within a possession and possibly win this one outright.

*ML Parlay(0.8u): Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Bulls(+117)–1:30 PM CT

Boston College beat Pittsburgh by 20 yesterday, but that says a lot more about Pittsburgh’s ineptness than it does Boston College’s potential. Wake Forest has a solid chance of winning this conference tournament, and they are even a team I think can make a deep run in the Big Dance. The Demon Deacons are solid on both ends of the floor and run at a pace that allows them to put teams like Boston College away. Wake Forest won this matchup by 30 earlier in the season; they might not want to put too much energy into this one with Miami waiting tomorrow, but I have no hesitation that Wake Forest will win this game

Vanderbilt gets an easy matchup with Georgia in the 1st round of the SEC Tournament. The Commodores handled the Bulldogs in each of their 2 regular season matchups, and I see no reason why that doesn’t continue today. Remember, this Georgia team is 6-25 overall and has just 1 win since December 20th. Georgia ranks 308th in defensive efficiency, while Vanderbilt ranks 46th. ‘Dores take care of business today.

The Pistons enter tonight having won 3 in a row, but do we really expect an 18-47 team to keep that rolling? With where Detroit is as an organization, they are much more concerned with getting a good draft slot than picking up wins when their season is toast. They’ll face a Bulls team that has lost 5 straight, but you have to consider the gauntlet that the Bulls have faced in this stretch(Grizzlies, Heat, Hawks, Bucks, 76ers). With no look-ahead spot in play, I like Chicago to get back on track tonight and pour everything into this one.
