April 25th MLB Play

A 2-1, +1u Sunday marked 3 straight winning days for me and was a great way to cap off the weekend! I was priced out of a few other plays I liked for today, so I am rolling with a lone play to kick off the new week in hopes of making it 4 straight winning days. *MLB(1u): Cardinals TT UNDER 2.5(+115) vs Mets–6:45 PM CT

Max Scherzer takes the hill for the Mets today looking to build off his first 3 starts where he’s compiled a 2.50 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. This is a tough spot for the Cardinals coming off a 10 game road trip and having no time to settle back in before facing arguably the best pitcher in the league. While I like backing the Cardinals when they face lefties, they ranked just 28th in OPS vs righties at home last season. Additionally, they were able to put up just 1 run in Cincinnati yesterday, signaling this team is not in good current form entering an already tough matchup. While I wanted to play the F5 TT UNDER and isolate Scherzer, I’m simply not going to lay -145 in really any circumstance. Fortunately for us, the Mets should have every back-end arm in their bullpen available, and I’m expecting Scherzer to go pretty deep in this game. At a 60 cent price difference, I will take the full game TT UNDER and trust Scherzer and the Mets staff to hold down an offense that has struggled in this situation.
