Toledo vs Kent State -4 O/U 152.5
Return of the MAC is on tonight with two decent basketball teams. Kent State will be hosting this game sitting pretty at 12-3. Now when they stepped up in competition, they failed but you have to give them credit for not losing to Houston, Gonzaga and Charleston by more than 7 points. Kent State has a decent defense ranking 37th in efficiency but they are quite bad a rebounding the basketball. The Golden Flashes play at a faster pace ranking 86th in adjusted Tempo. Kent State is very fast in transition ranking in the top 25 in breakway points. Toledo on the other hand has a wonderful offense ranking 17th in offensive efficiency but they have a terrible defense ranking 290th respectively. Toledo plays at a very fast pace ranking 15th in ajusted Tempo. Toledo can rebound the ball somewhat on offense ranking 126th, but they can’t rebound on defense only ranking 325th which means that Kent State should be able to clean up their boards and score. Due to all of this discrepancy, I am not really interested in a side, but I would love to take this short total over. I see fast pace and many points on transition due to the big issues that both of these teams present from an offensive rebounding perspective, and based on the fact that both of these teams play very fast. Over the last five games, Toledo hasn’t scored less than 83 points. Kent State hasn’t scored less than 76 points at home all year. Take the over.
Over 152.5 – 2 stars
Quick Hitter: Nebraska +3.5 – 2 stars –
Illinois ranks 10th worst in away from home rating in college basketball while Nebraska ranks 16th at home rating found on haslametrics.com. Illinois lost their top Freshman in Sky Clarke last week due to transfer. I also do not like how Illinois only ranks 306th from the charity line.
