I have a prop I absolutely love tonight, Zac Gallen has fire coming out of each pitch right now. He heads home after his Texas outing where they got him for 3 runs, a Texas ball club averaging almost 7 runs a game in 2023. In 3 starts at Chase Field, he is yet to give up a run in 20 and ⅓ innings, and a total of 9 hits! Now will face a LIFELESS Marlins offense, who just played late into the day Sunday at Wrigley Field, winning in 14 innings. They then hopped on a plane and traveled to Phoenix, Arizona. They already don’t hit as it is, batting .243 this season and only .230 vs righties. Most of their ‘success’ has come vs lefties. Gallen has already shut them out this season in 6 and ⅔’s innings of shutout work in Miami. He hasn’t given up a walk in the last 4 starts, which tells me he’s attacking the strike zone on a consistent basis. If we can keep his strikeouts down and get some quick outs, I can see him working deep into this game. After what has transpired the last two days with their bullpen, I would assume Manager Torey Lovullo will leave him out there as long as possible. He’s yet to hit the 100 pitch mark in 2023, but tonight could be the night. I will be unloading on quite a few props here, a few will make you say WHAT!?
