Don’t hate me for this please. I know I always like to stay away from the Huskies but they just keep upping this spread and it is too hard to resist. All you hear from the media about UCONN is that they have been beating teams by double digits over their last nine games, but why have that not mentioned the competition? In 2023, their only impressive tournament win was vs three seed Gonzaga while all the rest of their games were against wannabee high seeded teams. Why are we not talking about the fact that they lost to Creighton this year by double digits? Why are we not talking about the fact that they got Marquette without their best player over the last two matchups? How about the fact that ST Johns kept it within five? UCONN is not as good as they were last year without Sanogo and Hawkins. They have been suspect behind the arc, and they are facing a red hot Illinois team that is number two on offense and have been stepping up their defense since the middle of March. I have to take the value here as Illinois has the guard play from Terrance Shannon and Marcus Domask to stay in this game and possibly even lead at halftime. Illinois has the experience against Zach Edey that will help them slow down Donavan Clingan. Hold your breath, plug your nose and take the Illini.
