This should be a fun game today out in LA! The Royals have really been a solid team thus far for 2024. This team is 40-31 after 71 games! Pretty amazing feat thus far for a Kansas City team that is virtually ignored. The Dodgers on the other hand are number one in their division at 43-28 and looking to stay there. We have two great pitchers facing off. Seth Lugo takes the helm for the Royals boasting a 2.37 ERA and a nice .275 wOBA. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the horse pitching for the Dodgers boasting a 3.00 ERA and a .276 wOBA. Looks like two fantastic pitchers to me! The Dodgers will get the nod today for the batting ranking 2nd in wRC+ to the Royals at 14th, but does that warrant such a discrepancy with two pretty equal pitchers? I think that Lugo goes at least five innings here of possible shut-out baseball. Lastly, the Royals are decent against righties ranking 12th in wRC+ while the Dodgers are 3rd. I think this game could be tied after five.
