Blue Jays -.5 F5 (-130)
The Toronto Blue Jays are throwing out their Ace, Alek Manoah, tonight vs. the Baltimore Orioles.

In the only time Manoah faced the O’s this season, he went six shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out seven batters.

Going back to the 2021 season, Alek Manoah has faced Baltimore four times, striking out at least six batters in all four starts and giving up one or fewer earned runs in three of the four starts. It is safe to say Manoah may have Baltimore’s number.

On the other side, the Orioles are starting Kyle Bradish. Bradish has been less than stellar. Bradish is 1-4 with a 6.55 ERA in 2022.

In Kyle’s lone start against the Jays this season, he failed to make it out of the 5th inning, giving up five runs on nine hits.

I like the Jays to get out to an early lead and cash this one early for us.

Phillies -1.5 (-115)
I am fading Braxton Garrett strictly based on his splits. Garrett hasn’t pitched terribly this season, but he has the disadvantage tonight pitching against one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Phillies have won 5 straight and 10 of their last 11 games. Over the course of those 11 games, the Phillies have outscored their opponents by 29 runs.

Garrett has a hard time against right-handed bats. Of his five home runs given up, 4 have been to righties, and his ERA jumps from 3.57 (against lefties) to 4.05 (against righties). Left-handed opponents are hitting .164, but righties have an average of .262 against Garrett.

The Phillies are sending out seven right-handed bats tonight, which is not a great sign for Braxton Garrett.

Oh, and not to mention, Phillies’ starter Zach Wheeler should hold the Marlins lineup in check tonight. Since Wheeler’s 1-3 start to the 2022 season, he has gone 9-2 with a 2.14 ERA.
