NFL Sunday Fun-day plays – Cowboys vs Panthers – Sports Betting

Cowboys vs Panthers +3 O/U 48.5

🏈 Game Details

  • Date & Time: Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET
  • Location: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
  • Broadcast: FOX and NFL+

📊 Team Records & Momentum

  • Dallas Cowboys: 2-2-1, coming off a dominant 37-22 win over the Jets
  • Carolina Panthers: 2-3, fresh from a thrilling 27-24 comeback against the Dolphins

🔥 Key Storylines

  • Rico Dowdle’s Revenge Game: The Panthers’ running back, formerly with Dallas, exploded for 206 rushing yards last week and will be looking to make a statement against his old team.
  • CeeDee Lamb Out Again: Dallas will be without their star wide receiver for the third straight week, which could impact their passing game.
  • Offensive Firepower: Dallas leads the NFL in total yards per game (406.6), yards per play (6.12), and ranks top five in scoring (30.2 points/game).
  • Defensive Struggles: Both teams rank dead last in overall defense, with Dallas and Carolina tied at 32nd. Neither team has been able to consistently stop opponents.

🧠 Quarterback Matchup

  • Dak Prescott (Cowboys): Efficient and explosive, threw for 237 yards and 4 TDs last week.
  • Bryce Young (Panthers): Needs to keep pace with Dallas’s offense and avoid turnovers against a vulnerable defense.

📉 Betting Odds

  • Spread: Cowboys -3
  • Over/Under: 48.5 points
  • Moneyline: Cowboys -166, Panthers +137

🔍 What to Watch For

  • Panthers’ Pass Rush: With only 5 sacks this season (second-fewest in the NFL), Carolina must find a way to pressure Prescott.
  • Dallas’s Run Game: Javonte Williams has emerged as a key weapon and could exploit Carolina’s porous run defense.
  • Turnovers: Both teams have a turnover differential of -3, which could be a deciding factor in a close game.

📊 Team Efficiency & Scoring

Total Yards Per Game 406.6 (1st) 315.0 (21st)
Expected Win-Loss 2.4–2.6 1.5–2.5

Prediction:

Does results matter?  I tend to think so.   Look, last week Dem boys took care of a putrid Jets team.  How much should we really care about that?   One thing that I have noticed, is that Bryce Young and the Panthers have been improving this season.  I am going to give the Cowboys some credit.  They have been scoring a lot of points.  They have a great offense, but we also have to consider that most of the teams that Dem boys have played have not faired to well.   This team played an Eagles team that has been leaking oil all season.  They tied a Packers team just based on mess ups.   They should have tied a bad Giants team with Russell Wilson, lost to a Bears team with one of the worst defenses in the league, and they beat a very bad Jets team on the road.  Dem boys are also without their best player in Ceedee lamb.  On defense, the Cowboys rank THE WORST in the league at 32nd in EPA.   The Panthers at least are a modest 21st in EPA.   The Panthers haven’t exactly had a hard schedule, but when they played at home, they beat the Falcons 30-0, and the Dolphins 27-24.  Last thing to mention is that NFL referee John Hussey will be the decision maker at this game.   Hussey is a 63% home ATS ref.  That is significant.  I think that the defense of the Cowboys is so bad, that the Panthers have a very good chance of winning this one outright.

Panthers +3

Bonus Play:

Teaser:   49ers to +9.5 with Rams to -1 – 2 stars – The Bucs do not blow anybody out and Mac Jones is as good as Purdy.   The Ravens without Lamar and Roquan.

Georgia vs Auburn +4 O/U 45.5

🏈 Game Details

  • Date & Time: Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. CT (7:30 p.m. ET)
  • Location: Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Alabama
  • Broadcast: ABC
  • Betting Line: Georgia favored by 3.5 to 4.5 points

🔥 Key Storylines

  • Rivalry History: Georgia has won 8 straight against Auburn, with the Tigers’ last win coming in 2017.
  • Auburn’s Struggles: The Tigers are on a two-game losing streak and have yet to win an SEC game this season.
  • Georgia’s Bounce Back: After a loss to Alabama, Georgia rebounded with a dominant win over Kentucky.

🧠 Tactical Matchups

  • Run Defense Battle: Georgia ranks 13th nationally against the run, while Auburn is 17th.
  • Quarterback Pressure: Auburn must improve pass protection for QB Jackson Arnold, who’s been sacked frequently.
  • Georgia’s Ground Game: Chauncey Bowens has emerged as the Bulldogs’ lead back, with a strong showing against Alabama.

🚑 Injury Updates

  • Auburn: WR Horatio Fields and RB Durell Robinson are out.
  • Georgia: OL Earnest Greene and LT Monroe Freeling are questionable; DT Jordan Hall is expected to play.

🌙 X-Factors

  • Night Game at Jordan-Hare: Auburn fans and analysts believe the nighttime atmosphere could rattle Georgia and energize the Tigers.
  • Weather: Conditions are expected to be ideal—74°F at kickoff, dropping to 53°F later

Prediction:

I remember the days that we used to rely on Georgia’s defense. Well, unfortunately, this really isn’t that year.  Auburn has played a great schedule so far ranking 7th on Sagarin.  They still have a nice .35 positive net yards per play.  Georgia’s loss to Alabama really says it all to me.  This Bulldogs team struggles at the quarterback position only ranking 41st in pass EPA and 123rd in explosive plays.  The Bulldogs need to establish the run in order to make life easier on Gunner Stockton. The problem is that Auburn is number one in opponent rush EPA and has a very very stingy defensive line.  I love the Auburn is coming off of the bye week right here while Georgia has Ole miss on deck.  This is a home run spot for the Tigers.  Take the points.

Auburn +4 – 2 stars

Houston vs Oklahoma State +14.5 O/U 47.5

As a college football bettor, sometimes we have to get ourselves a little dirty. The Cowboys are a terrible team this year, but if there are any wins that could happen on their schedule, this is the spot that we have to look at. The Cougars just suffered their first loss last week to Texas Tech.   Usually at this time, that is something good, but looking at their schedule, they really haven’t played anyone with a pulse.  Oklahoma State ranks 127th in offensive EPA, but they might be able to run the ball some against a cougars defense that ranks 84th in defensive rushing success rate.  The Cougars rely on their pass defense to won games, but this offense is terrible ranking 124th in success rate and 121st in EPA.  These numbers are with a schedule that only ranks 78th on Sagarin.  During Houston’s game at a poor, winless Oregon State team, they won 27-24, yet were outgained in yards. That is not a good sign for being on the road at a desperate team.  Last think to bring up. Houston quarterback Conner Weigman got injured last game and is questionable to play at Oklahoma State.  I think that this will be a low scoring game, but just enough for the home dog to cover a huge spread against one of the worst offenses in football.

Oklahoma State +14.5 – 2 stars
