This should be a fun one with two teams that play two different ways. I think that we might see a pace war. The Illini play fast ranking 78th in adjusted pace while the Dukes rank 272nd. In saying that, the Duke’s just played a fast paced team in BYU and found success. Looking at the makeup of these teams, I think that Duquesne has some chances here. The Duke’s will have advantages from deep ranking 99th in adjusted three point percentage to Illinois ranking 132nd defending it. I could also see that the Duke’s shoot well from the mid-range. Now Illinois has the 2nd most efficient offense in the league, but the Duke’s rank 19th in adjusted defensive efficiency and number 1 defending the three. I will take the Dukes in the first half. I trust them to start the game out well as Illinois usually starts rough.
