Duke is coming off a really impressive win against arch-rival North Carolina, but coming back home just 2 days later is not the easiest of spots. I’ve been the first to say that Virginia is a step below where this program is used to being, but the Cavaliers are in great current form having just beat Miami by 13. While UVA runs at the slowest pace in College Basketball, their offense has moved up 20 spots in my offensive efficiency ratings here over the past few weeks. Duke is susceptible to “let down” games at home; they lost outright to Miami as 14.5 point favorites earlier this season and barely squeaked past Clemson laying this same number in a game they deserved to lose. With this being a very low-possession, slow-paced game, any spread in the double-digits is simply too high. Tony Bennett is still a really good basketball coach who has built up a historically winning program, and I like his surging UVA team to be competitive in this one.
