*CBB(1u): Davidson/VCU UNDER 133(-110)–6 PM CT
VCU is truly one of the weirdest teams in all of College Basketball. The Rams arguably have one of the best defenses in the country(#2 in KenPom), yet their offense is absolutely putrid. Scoring just 62.7 PPG this season, shooting just 43% from the floor, and turning the ball over upwards of 15 times per game, this offense ranks 269th in the country. Davidson’s defense is not great, but the one thing the Wildcats will contribute to this play is their slow pace(Wildcats run at the 318th fastest pace in the country). Davidson’s offense has performed well this season, but then again they haven’t faced a defense as good as this VCU’s, not to mention in a road conference game. In fact, the average defensive efficiency rating of Davidson’s opponents this season is just 245th. When you combine how these teams match up and then add VCU’s need to bounce back from last week’s St. Bonaventure loss, I think we’ll see a low-scoring game tonight. I’d endorse this play down to 131.5.
