What is up everyone!!! I hope that everyone is staying safe out there, I haven’t been on in a little bit, but I am coming to you to talk about one huge race that is happening at Oaklawn Park on Saturday, April 18th, 2020.

Let’s jump right into the race I would like to talk about, and that is the Grade III Count Fleet Sprint Handicap. This race is for 3-year olds and upward going 6 Furlongs.

This race has a lot of familiar horses that if you watched races in the past year the names jump off the pages, I have won with these horses and I have lost with these horses.

Let’s go through my top picks:

1 Lexitonian 30/1

Hasn’t t raced since Oct. 19th, 2019, came in 3rd behind Whitmore, who did not win his next race.  This horse leaves me asking if the break was good for him. He has had some good works at Keenland from the gate, but in a race with mixed closers and sprinters, I think that the race could be out of reach to come in first, it could hit the board coming down the stretch.

2 Flagstaff 7/2

SoCal shipper out of the John Sadler barn, horse loves to be on the lead.  He has raced against a horse like Omaha Beach, and Roadster. This horse does well in both sprinter and closer favored races.  Joel Rosario is climbing aboard which adds the appeal to the horse to do well.

3 Hog Creek Hustle 15/1

This horse drives me crazy; I have cashed nice tickets and I have ripped tickets up from this horse.  This horse seems like he outruns his odds.  Today would be no different, that said, I do like this horse going father then 6F.  He is a good closer that can run on late, but only if he has the path through traffic.

4 Bobby’s Wicked One 3/1

The last two races have been impressive, and he won his last race by 4 ¼ vs Hog Creek Hustle.  I hope that the other horses will take more money than they should, you could get a good price on this horse.  Only 2 bad races on paper, one he tried the turf, then took a break, came back and wasn’t ready.  Other than those two, no issues with this horse. Primed for a win.

9 Whitmore 5/2

I like him in this spot, I think the horses that he is facing are right at the level and he could be an ok price.  I expect him to hit the board, he is the oldest horse in the field and has the most experience. I feel like this race is perfect for him, and at 5/2 you can’t beat it.

11 Nitrous 20/1

Another late closer that could be good in this type of race, he could hit the board coming from late.  It could be the case that the race is just not long enough for this type of horse, but if things fall apart this horse could be a huge price.
