Premiums, 4.9

Shitty, bad beat night. Let’s make up for it Saturday. This is my entire card; I’ve been capping throughout the night. If anything changes I’ll email but I doubt it will. As a reminder, my MLB analysis will be more thorough and featured when NBA ends.
Enjoy your Saturday, everyone!

NBA Picks:
  • Pacers/76ers over 234, 1.5 units
  • > > > The Sixers don’t play defense when they don’t care about a game. They kinda care about this one, kinda don’t. They’re locked into the #4 spot, in all reality. The Pacers have the worst defense in the NBA right now but they love to score and run with tempo. This line will increase, take it now.
  • Clippers 1H over 60 or less, 1 unit
  • > > > You see who the Clippers are facing? Cool me too. LAC has been routinely putting up 60 in the first and they’re absolutely in a “get in reps” mode with their offense now that PG is back. Sacramento is a good team to practice against. Clippers soar in the 1H, and you should get a better number than 60.
MLB Picks:
  • Brewers -1.5, 1 unit
  • Blue Jays -1.5, 1 unit
  • CLE /KC under 8.5, 1.5 units
  • Dodgers -1.5 , 1 unit
UFC Picks:
  • Mike Malott (-195), 1.95 units to win 1 unit
    • Gall has been on a downward trend and Mallott is a hungry, girthy fighter who should have the takedown advantage. Malott pushes Gall around for the win.
  • Aspen Ladd (+160), 1 unit to win 1.6 units
    • Grappling advantage to Ladd and she NEEDS this win
  • J. Rozenstruik/M. Tybura under 1.5 rounds (+115), 1 unit to win 1.15 units
    • This fight was cancelled.
  • Madsen/Pichel goes the distance (-170), 1.7 units to win 1 unit
    • Two evenly matched fighters ascending in their class– this should be a highly technical battle with both fighters approaching cautiously
  • Petr Yan by KO, TKO, or DQ (+150), 2 units to win 3 units
    • Yan will be out for blood in this contest. He was DOMINANT in the last fight against Sterling– unhittable, a gas tank that doesn’t empty, and he was smashing Sterling at will. Unless Sterling makes a huge leap in his game, Yan should dominate and win in convincing fashion again before the final bell.

Premier League Free Play!

We absolutely SMACKED last weekend going 9-1 on Premier League action. This weekend a ton is on the line with clubs jockeying for position at both the top and the bottom of the table. Here is my favorite play this weekend.

Current Soccer Record: 36-43 +8.61 Units

Arsenal ML (-145) 2 Units

This past Monday Arsenal squared off with Crystal Palace and got tossed around 3-0.   They came out flat and got behind early, following up from the weekend theme of some clubs still being on “International break”. This week they have a “get right” match and no better timing than against one of the worst teams in the league currently; Brighton Hove Albi. Brighton’s goal drought continued this past weekend as they drew Nil/Nil with bottom of the table Norwich (which we nailed). That brings them to now only scoring 1 goal in their last 7 matches. This is epically bad stuff here. It just simply isn’t going to get better as they travel to London to face Arsenal who, Oh by the way just got completely embarrassed, good luck. Points are at a premium and Arsenal needs them to keep their 5th place standing on the table.   I do not see a let down spot at all for them here. Brighton continues its pathetic non-scoring drought and Arsenal takes care of a business against a club they should clean up against. 2 Unit play to pad the bankroll.

April 8th MLB Plays

I started off the MLB season with a 2-0, +2.18u day! I’m looking to back that up with 3 more winners today, all of which you can see below. If you’d like to receive a text whenever I release any plays, join my Telegram group. Let’s start the weekend off strong!

*MLB(0.66u): Red Sox F5 ML(+150) @ Yankees–12:05 PM CT

This price is a bit silly to me. Gerrit Cole’s last start came in the Wild Card game where this Red Sox team knocked him out of the game in just 2 innings. The Red Sox lineup got even better this offseason adding INF Trevor Story, and 4 Red Sox hitters have an OPS above .925 against Cole. Red Sox SP Nathan Eovaldi had a respectable 3.75 ERA last season, but his FIP of 2.78 suggests he pitched substantially better than his ERA shows. The Yankees obviously have the potential to strike big at any moment, but this is a lineup that is marred with “true 3 outcomes(K, BB, HR)” guys that display tons of inconsistency. I won’t risk a full unit on this play, but I’ll throw ⅔ of a unit on it to hopefully net us that full unit. Maybe it’s the Yankee bias typically shown in the betting market, but this is just a bad price.

*MLB(1u): Athletics F5 TT UNDER 1.5(-115) @ Phillies–2:05 PM CT

Aaron Nola totes the rubber for the Phillies today looking to bounce back from what was a somewhat disappointing 2021. While the 4.63 ERA was uncharacteristic, his 1.13 WHIP and other underlying statistics(3.36 FIP, 3.26 SIERA) scream that he caught the raw end of some bad breaks. Even in a down year, Nola had a 1.00 WHIP at Citizens Bank Park. In all honesty, I’m not sure there’s one guy in this A’s lineup Nola is going to have to work around. The Athletics were pretty mediocre offensively last year, and now that they’ve sold off basically every valuable offensive piece they had, I’m expecting a pretty rough year for them at the plate. When you combine that this is a righty-heavy lineup that won’t be able to take advantage of the Citizens Bank Park conditions, I think Nola has his way today. 1.5 is a low F5 total, but I don’t think Nola has much trouble today.

*MLB(1u): Giants F5 -0.5(+105) vs Marlins–3:35 PM CT

The Giants crushed right-handed pitching at home last season, and they’ll face righty Sandy Alcantara today. The Marlins ace had a very good 2021(3.19 ERA, 1.07 WHIP), but much of that is aided by pitching in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the league. Away from home last season, Alcantara had an ERA above 4.00, a WHIP above 1.20, and allowed over 1 HR/9. The Giants added yet another lefty bat in Joc Pederson to complement what was already a very good lineup to begin with. Giants SP Logan Webb was phenomenal last season(3.03 ERA, 1.11 WHIP), and his FIP at 2.71 suggests the breakout year was anything but a fluke. Aside from Jazz Chisholm, the Marlins are a righty-heavy lineup that only have a couple of guys that will warrant caution from Webb. At Oracle Park last season, Webb had a sub-2.00 ERA, sub-1.00 WHIP, and allowed just 0.5 HR/9. Getting the Giants F5 -0.5 at plus-money is a bargain.

Laying the Points: NBA Playoffs Preview and Picks Pod 4/8/22

Chris is back to give his NBA Playoffs preview, talk about some angles and teams to consider heading into the postseason, and he goes over the Friday NBA slate!

2 Year NBA Record: Over 850 Picks, 57% win rate (+70 units this season)

2 Totals Just Climbed

  • Knicks/Wizards is now 225 – still like it, take it.
  • Suns/Jazz is now 227.5 – still like it, take it.

Premiums, 4.8

Another good day although wow- Padres? That was silly. I won’t always provide write ups for baseball to save some time, but feel free to ask me anything!

Happy Friday, ya crazy animals!
NBA Picks:
  • Knicks/Wizards over 222.5, 1 unit
    • This game will mean a lot less to the Knicks and therefore a lot less effort on defense. The Wizards, somehow, have been putting up points and they’ve instantly turned into a softer, flashier offense with Porzingis (go figure). This total is too low – I have it at 229.
  • Bulls 1H TT under 60, 2 units
    • This is not a good offense over the last month and it’s definitely not a good offense in the 1st half. Look back at their last 10-15 games and you’ll only find ONE half where they eclipsed 60 points. I know they’re at home and this is the Hornets we’re talking about, not a premiere defense, but I just don’t trust Chicago to do anything well right now. Only great offenses can score over 60 points in the 1st half – and a lot of that takes riding a wave of momentum. Don’t trust CHI, betting against them and their lack of momentum, and the probabilities are on our side.
  • Suns/Jazz over 226.5, 1.5 units
    • The Jazz are a team that’s mystifying many of us. With the same talent and same projections, they just don’t look the same. That’s especially true on defense. The Suns don’t need nor should they particularly care about this matchup. Aside from bragging rights, it’s pretty meaningless, and it’s unlikely they’ll see Utah in the postseason. If the Suns let up tonight, it’ll be on defense. The Jazz offense has still been producing at a high clip and the Suns’ pace should push it even higher. I have this at 232.
  • Blazers/Mavs 1H over 114 or less, 2 units
    • Combining Portland’s no-existence defense and Dallas proclivity to play fast and score a ton of points in the first half = an obvious over. Let’s hope all things go as they have – all signs point towards YES. Portland score in the 1H, and dies in the second. Give us points!
MLB Picks:
  • Brewers -1.5 (+105), 1 unit to win 1.05
  • Athletics/Phillies first 5 under 4.5 (-130), 1.3 units to win 1
  • Marlins/Giants under 7.5 (-110), 1.1 units to win 1
  • Mariners (+102), 1 unit to win 1.02
If you ever have any questions, message me here, on Twitter, or on Instagram. I will make myself available from 9am to 5pm every day, but please don’t expect an answer outside of those hours. I gotta shut it down sometimes. All picks are 1-5 stars based on unit size and confidence. 3 star picks are rare, 4-5 star picks are VERY rare. All plays listed are TO WIN that amount. In other words, if I say Bucks -3 for 1 unit, we’re betting 1.1 units at -110 or 1.15 units at -115 to win 1 unit.

Always appreciate all of you! -Chris

Early Premium Thoughts

Part of my job is to teach others how to look at early lines and examine for value. Official picks tomorrow, but here are some leans/thoughts.

  • The Bucks (-6) could sit their starters tomorrow. Consider betting Detroit now.
  • The Cavs are struggling on defense. Consider a Nets TT in advance.
  • If the Raptors (-14.5) sit starters, that’ll move too. I’m less likely to play against Toronto at home, though.
  • How are the Bulls (-2) going to stop the Hornets offense?
  • Do the Suns (+2.5) care about their game against the Jazz?

Adding a Play

I know this number is GROSS, but LeBron, AD, and Russ are all officially out tonight. The Warriors are at home and they’ve won 2 straight. They want to maintain this momentum into the postseason, and they have a MASSIVE advantage in depth tonight.

Warriors -14, 1 unit

Rob V: Thursday NBA Comp play + TOTAL OF THE YEAR Info

Thursday Card LED BY THE 7* NBA TOTAL OF THE YEAR, a Double Perfect MLB Opening Day Totals Play (ONLY 2 time Overall MLB Seasonal leader on Network), Early Soccer, and the NHL Total of the Week Comp Play below.
The NBA comp Play is on Charlotte at 7:10 eastern. Heavy lay here at 13.5. However the Magic are on the wrong side of a Blowout system that plays against road teams off a home dog win at +7 or more and scored 110 or more against an opponent off a road dog loss and the total tonight is 220 or higher. Road dogs in this situation have blown out through the years. The Magic responded with a nice win at home after losing 30 to the Knicks but they have failed to cover 6 of 7 after scoring 100 or more. Charlotte allowed 144 on the road last out but should be better here at homer where they have covered 4 of 5 off a road trip lasting 7 or more days. In Games against teams that are .400 or less they have covered 44 of 59 long term. Look for the Hornets to sting the Magic tonight. The 7* NBA 100% TOTAL OF the Year headlines On Opening Day we have a Double Perfect Game 1 specific Totals Play with a Perfect pitching indicator. We also have the NHL Total of the Week.
