The PGA TOUR returns to Japan for the 2025 Baycurrent Classic, ushering in a new era for the event as it makes its debut at Yokohama Country Club.
Formerly known as the Zozo Championship, this co-sanctioned PGA TOUR and Japan Golf Tour tournament will feature an elite international field competing on a composite layout that combines 16 holes from Yokohama’s West Course and 2 from the East. Course/ Tournament History:
Yokohama Country Club, located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, was founded in 1960 and features two 18-hole courses, the East and West, both designed by Takeo Aiyama over six years. The West Course has hosted several prestigious tournaments, including the 1978 Japan Open, one of Seve Ballesteros’s early professional victories, and the 2018 Japan Open. Between 2014 and 2016, the West Course underwent renovations by the renowned design firm Coore & Crenshaw, improving its layout and playability.
The Baycurrent Classic, originally known as the Zozo Championship, is a professional golf tournament co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. Established in 2019, it marked the first PGA Tour event held in Japan, with the inaugural tournament at Narashino Country Club where Tiger Woods claimed his 82nd PGA Tour victory, tying Sam Snead’s all-time record. In 2020, the event was temporarily moved to Sherwood Country Club in California due to COVID-19 travel restrictions and was solely sanctioned by the PGA Tour. The tournament returned to Japan in 2021, resuming its co-sanctioned status. In December 2024, Tokyo-based consulting firm Baycurrent Inc. became the title sponsor, leading to the tournament’s renaming and relocation to Yokohama Country Club in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Defensive Edge: Houston has the healthier unit, while Baltimore’s secondary and front seven are depleted.
Let’s go to a game with a line that hasn’t adjusted quite enough. I really think that the Thursday Night football game helped keep this line low enough to bet for Houston. First of all, comparing the 49ers injuries to the Ravens is not correct at all. The Rams outplayed the niners, but they were out-coached. The step down from Brock Purdy to Mac Jones is very slight, while going from Lamar Jackson to Cooper Rush is massive. Lamar Jackson to the Ravens is worth at least 8 points. The look ahead line was Ravens -7.5, but we can’t forget that their best defensive player in Roquan Smith along with a cluster of injuries must factor in more.
Another big issue that I have with this number is that even if all of these guys were healthy, this Ravens team only ranks 6th this year in offensive EPA and a pathetic 29th on defense. The Ravens are opposite ranking 26th in EPA on offense yet a strong 6th on defense. Both teams need a win bad, but one team is a lot more healthier, and that is the Texans. I will lay it with Houston.

Prediction:
This is really the most basic sharp type handicap in sports betting. The whole world is high on Miami, and the whole world is worried about Florida State. Look, I was on Virginia last week and they were the right side, but I will say that Florida State outgained this team, and still had opportunities to win even after losing the field position battle. Miami did chop up a good defense against Florida, and I give them credit for that, but how well did the Semi’s home win against Alabama age? I would say like a fine wine. Sometimes, we have to look at home road splits. Who has Miami beaten on the road this year? Oh that’s right, they haven’t even been there yet! Miami has shown some weaknesses when they played a decent offense in Notre Dame. I have to take the points here as my power ratings has it at 3 giving an extra point for the night game.

Buy low sell high is the name of the game for this one. I know that the Eagles are 1-3 and still has yet to win a conference game, but Pitt hasn’t exactly ripped it up this year themselves.
Looking at the numbers, Boston college has the much better offense ranking 35th in success rate and 39th in EPA. They were in every single game that they lost, and should have beaten Michigan State. This Eagles team has had a harder schedule ranking 69th on Sagarin, with a nice 1.45 net yards per play.
The Panthers have a nice 2.32 yards per play, but those numbers are highly skewed due to playing FCS and Central Michigan who maybe should be FCS the way that they are playing this year.
Boston College will move the ball through the air. The Eagles rank 40th in pass EPA while the Panthers rank 69th in opponent pass EPA.
Both teams are definitely desperate for a conference win, but I see a three point game, and I think that BC wins this outright.
