College Football Week 8 Misleading Final Scores

Michigan State out-gained Rutgers 369 to 276 yet lost 38-27.  A 7-3 turnover ratio hurt.

Iowa out-gained Purdue 455 to 386 yet lost 24-20.  Equal turnover ratio at 2-2.  Bad efficiency

Troy out-gained Georgia State 447 to 379 yet lost 36-34.  A 4-3 turnover ratio did them in.

UTEP out-gained Charlotte 374 to 329 yet lost 38 to 28.  A 3-0 turnover ratio killed them.

Virginia Tech out-gained Wake Forest 432 to 316 yet lost 23-16.   A 3-0 turnover ratio killed them.  Wake Forest has improved their defense.

Houston only out-gained Navy 420 to 372 yet won 37-21.  1-1 turnover ratio.

Penn State out-gained Indiana 488 to 211 yet lost in overtime due to a 2 point conversion 36-35.  Only a 3-2 turnover ratio hurt them but still.

West Virginia out-gained Texas Tech 414 to 348 yet lost 34 to 27.  2-1 turnover ratio hurt.

Temple out-gained Memphis 500 to 489 yards yet lost 41-29.   3-3 – turnover ratio.

Kansas State only outgained Kansas 381 to 320 yet won 55 to 14.  A 2-1 turnover ratio barely made a dent for Kansas and poor efficiency and coaching was the reason.

Air Force out-gained San Jose State 298 to 293 yet lost 17-6.   A 2-1 turnover ratio hurt.

Ion Cutelaba/Magomed Ankalaev Under 1½ +105  – 2 star premium shared –

This fight was supposed to happen back in July/August but Ion Cutelaba was positive for Covid so it was postponed.   I like the same play here.  This is a rematch from Feb 29th this year where Magomed Ankalaev won in 38 seconds with some head kicks and punches.  Ion Cutelaba is a puncher and he will go for the Jugular immediately.  His fight time averages less than 1 round at 4 minutes and 30 seconds.  Magomed has 8 KOs, no submissions and 5 decisions.   When he fights a stand up fighter it ends quickly.   I’ll take the plus money and see if they get past 7 Min and 30 seconds

NFL Week 7 Free Plays – Sports Betting

Green Bay vs Houston +3.5 O/U 56.5 –

Green Bay coming off of an embarrassing loss with a total this big?  Hmmmmm.  Houston has 0 defense and Green Bay should be ready to pounce.   Houston had the game last week and blew it in overtime now putting them at a 1-5 record.  What now?  Their playoff hopes are shot and you might see a very lack-luster Texans team this week.   More importantly, my power ratings have Green Bay a 5.25 favorite here and that is counting a few fans in Houston.   My Algorithm has the Packers winning 28.26 to 24.62 to be exact.  The situation here screams Green Bay to me so I will grab them vs a broken Texans team.

Green Bay -3.5 – 2.5 star premium shared play

Seattle vs Arizona +3 O/U 56.5 –

Arizona had a blast destroying the Cowboys last week.  The Line moved slightly in their favor from +5 to +3.25 ish due to juice but not hitting the 3 flat is due to the short week of preparation that they have against the Seahawks.  The Seahawks certainly look the part on offense and they put up score for score with any team.  Well that is, as long as Russell Wilson continues to have great games.   The issue that I have with the Seahawks this week is that they were humming at 5-0 and I think the bye week might be a bad thing this early.  Bye weeks do well for teams that are losing or at least lost a few games.   It gives players rest and gives the team more of a mental break.  The Seahawks didn’t need a bye this early and I think that it will mess up the huge momentum that they had.   The Seahawks D ranks dead last in the league giving up 471 yards per game.  Did you know that Arizona’s offense actually puts up more yards per game than Seattle at 402 to 396?  I actually have Arizona winning this game based on my Algorithm about 29 to 23.   My power ratings have Arizona winning by .75.  Take the home dog at plus money.

Arizona +3 (+110) – 3 star premium shared and sprinkle

Buffalo vs NY Jets +13 O/U 45.5 –

The NY Jets are a massive home dog here as they should be after their performances this year.  They are 0-6 ATS and have no chance of making the playoffs whatsoever.  I don’t see the Jets scoring much here and I think that both Defenses could be motivated after last week’s performances.  The Jets at least held Miami to 3 points the second half.  My Power ratings have the Bills by -11.75 but my Algorithm only has the Bills by 8 points.  Due to the Jets massively underachieving and only averaging 12.5 points per game, it makes it very hard to bet on the Jets.  I also wonder if the Jets might have given up on their season.  The Bills play at a slower pace ranking 25th in plays per game at 62.7 and the Jets might not score much telling me that this is an under play.   I gave this out at under 46.5 but still like it down to 44.

Buffalo vs Jets under 45.5 – 2 star premium shared

Refuse to Lose Teaser:   Chargers down to 1.5 with the 49ers up to +8 – Patriots don’t blow too many teams out and Jacksonville is almost in Jets territory.

Bow to the gambling gods parlay:  Pays 12.5 -1.   Doing some spreads and totals with MLs: NCAA:  Cincinnati vs SMU Over 56, Rice -3, Miami Florida -11.5, North Carolina -662, Liberty -433 NFL: Buffalo Bills -759, Los Angeles Chargers -369

College Football Week 8 Free Plays

Virginia vs Miami -11.5 O/U 58  –

This spread on this game tells me that Miami can beat Virginia by multiple scores.  Looking at Virginia, the only team that they handled was Duke in a majorly misleading final score.  Since Duke, this Virginia team has lost by double digits three times to run-of-the-muck ACC teams.   They are -.86 yards per play and giving up 35 points per game.  Miami on the other hand had that Clemson stinker in the rain but then was able to beat a better team in Pittsburgh at home by 12 points and could have scored again.  Miami is a +.6 yards per play and I think that they could really put a beating on Virginia similar to what we seen vs Florida State.  Miami puts up 35 points per game on average and they are looking to a nice bye week after-words.   Bet the Canes here.

Miami -11.5 – 2 star premium shared play

Middle Tennessee State vs Rice  -3 O/U 50 –

We gave this out to members at -2 but the -3 is looking just fine as well.  This play is honestly more of a fade on MTSU.  Rice returns a lot of production ranking 10th in the nation.  This is their first game of the year so they had lots of time to prep for this team.  Middle Tennessee State this year is a very bad team at 1-5 and a -.92 yards per play.  They also have a -15 point differential and the hardest team that they have played this year was Army.  Rice was a bad team last year but they did finish their year well with 3 Ws with one of those Ws was at MTSU.  My power ratings has rice by 6 points at home here.  Jeff Sagarin has this game Rice -8 and Team Rankings has Rice -14.   Unreal.  Taking Rice Rice Baby all the way!

Rice -3 – 2 star premium shared play

Texas State vs BYU -29 O/U 60.5 –

Texas State is bad but they shouldn’t be an over 4 touchdown dog here.  BYU is off of a hard fought game vs Houston last week and I think it took a lot out of them.  Now Texas State last week lost to an improved South Alabama team at the end of the game.  They actually were leading in the 4th quarter and lost momentum.   This is their 5th road game in a row and one has to wonder if they are used to it by now.  Now the Bobcats can be a very dangerous team.  They almost upset Boston College a month ago or so and they kept it respectable against SMU only losing by 7.  They also are finally healthy.  -.28 yards per play isn’t good but not terrible.  BYU could let down a bit here and just try and finish out the game with a W and maybe even some second string.  I think this could be a little flat here and my power ratings have BYU winning by 21 points and not 29.   Take the Bobcats in this situation.

Texas State + 29 – 2 star premium shared and sprinkle
