College Football Week 2 Misleading Final Scores

Week 2:

Iowa State out-gained Louisiana 303 to 272 yards but lost 31-14.  2-0 turnover ratio and bad red zone efficiency hurt them.

South Alabama out-gained Tulane 419 to 394 yards but lost 27-24.   Tulane made a strong second half there and South Alabama couldn’t hold on.

Kansas out-gained Coastal Carolina 367 to 318 yet lost 38-23.  Lots of garbage time there so no power rating adjustment.   3-0 turnover ratio didn’t help

Fantasy Football Week 2 Injuries, Waivers and Busts!

Key Injuries:

Devonte Parker WR – Hammy and is questionable.

Laveon Bell RB- Hammy and is questionable.

Courtland Sutton WR – Separated Shoulder and is week to week.

Marlon Mack RB – Torn Aquilles and is out for the season.  JT baby!

Michael Thomas WR – High ankle injury but he says he can play through it.

Duke Johnson RB – Ankle injury and will be doubtful for week 2.

Justin Jackson RB – Quad injury.

Phillip Lindsey RB – Left last game and didn’t come back in.

George Kittle TE – A little banged up and worth watching.

Miles Sanders RB – Injured in practice last week and is week to week.

David Njoku TE – Knee and on IR for 4 weeks.

Waiver Wire:

Chase Edmonds RB – He is a must own handcuff to Kenyon Drake anyways.

Nyheim hines RB –  Owned in 34% of leagues.  Massive injury to Marlon Mack upped his value a ton.  1 rushing and receiving TD last week.  8 targets.

Malcomb Brown RB – Owned in only 8% of leagues and was the 5th best running back last week.  SLEEPER!

Jerrick McKinnon RB – At least depending on Coleman who is has a preexisting condition to Covid.  Might be asthma or something…

Miles Gaskin RB – from Miami got 9 rushes and 4 targets.

Russell Gage WR – from Atlanta had a huge game with 12 targets.  Owned in only 2% of leagues.

Parris Campbell WR – from the Colts had a nice 9 targets.

Robbie Anderson WR – Carolina had 8 targets and a TD.

Preston Williams WR – Miami will pick up slack for Devonte Parker’s injury.

Logan Thomas TE – Washington had 8 targets and a TD.

Dalton Schultz TE – Blake Jarwins replacement from Dallas.

Marquez Valdez-Scantling WR – 96 yards and a touchdown.

Teddy Bridgewater QB – Great game vs the Raiders and he has CMC to throw to.

Joshua Kelly RB – For the Justin Jackson injury.

Peyton Barber RB – Most of the carries for Tampa.

Week 2 players must starts trending up:

Nyheim Hines RB – vs that horrible Vikings defense.

Marquez Valdez-Scantling WR vs the Lions beat up cornerbacks.

Darren Waller TE – The way to beat the saints is with your tight ends.   Marshawn Lattimore and Janoris Jenkins are to good at corner.

Devon Singletary RB vs Miami who can’t stop the run.

Scott Miller WR vs Carolina – Tom Brady likes him like a Wes Walker, Julian Edleman or Danny Amendola

Kareem Hunt RB vs the Bengals will get some work.

Leonard Fournette RB vs Carolina will have a bounce back game.

Michael Pitmann WR vs Minnesota’s bad secondary.

Kendrick Bourne WR vs a terrible Jets D.

Week 2 Busts:

Jordan Howard RB vs the Bills D.

Malcomb Brown RB vs Philly’s run D.   Only allowed 80 yards to Washington.

Brandon Cooks WR vs Baltimore’s Brandon Peters.

Josh Jacobs vs the Saints run D.

Melvin Gordon RB vs the Steelers.

Sony Michelle RB vs the Seahawks.

Nasty Sleeper of the week!   Nyheim Hines vs that revamped Minnesota defense.   Dave’s is Devon Singletary vs Miami.  GL everyone!

College Football Week 2 Free play – Part 2

Syracuse vs North Carolina -24 O/U 65.5 –

The Orange are not getting any respect here and don’t think that these coaches and kids do not know what this line is at.  They at least return their quarterback Tommy Devito who was a modest 63% completion and only threw 5 interceptions last year with 19 touchdowns.  UNC finished strong last year but Syracuse also finished quite well winning 2 out of their last 3 games including blowing Duke out 49-6 and being Wake Forest by 9.  This spread is something that is in the Clemson respect range and I can’t buy into UNC that much.  I have UNC by 16.75 points so at 24 it is a play.

Syracuse +24 – 2 star premium shared play and sprinkle

NFL Week 1 Free Plays

Las Vegas vs Carolina +3 – O/U 47 –

I gave this out at -1.5 so it is just a free play right now.  The Raiders are a better and more experienced team than the Panthers who have a new QB, new Coach, New coordinators and completely new schemes.  Lots of players from last year on the Panthers are gone and there will be a learning curve.  The Raiders have all  of their main starters coming back with some additional fire power.   Derek Carr will have a chip on his shoulder to prove that he is a starting QB over Marcus Mariota.

Las Vegas Raiders -3 – 1 star premium

Seattle vs Atlanta +1 – O/U 49 – Seattle runs the ball a ton and ranked in the top 3 in carries the last 2 years.   They will want to clock it with the lead at the end in my opinion.   Too many points for a game that should have some rust on both offenses here.  Last year, the Falcon’s last 4 games, they held both the Bucs and 49ers to 22 points.   They also held the Jaguars to 12 and Panthers to 20.

Seattle under 49 – 2 star premium shared

Pittsburgh vs NY Giants +6 O/U 47 – The Steelers had a terrible offense last year and a fantastic defense.   Their first round pick trade for Minka Fitzpatrick was a home run but it won’t help that lethargic offense that much.  I know Big Ben is back, but he will be rusty, and the Giant’s picked up a lot of guys in free agency this year.   Some help for the secondary for sure like James Bradberry from Carolina and Logan Ryan from Tennessee.  I see a low scoring game here with a correlation to the spread with the under.

NY Giants +6 – 1 star premium play shared and under 47 – 3 star premium shared play

College Football 9/10 Free Play

UAB vs Miami -14 O/U 54.5 –
I like UAB here and I gave it out at +16 but I like it down to +13.5.   Miami seems to come in over-hyped every single season and I do not know why this one is different.   D’Eriq King transferred in from Houston last year and he is a solid dual threat quarterback but he also left Houston last year after losing 3 out of 4 games.  King kinda put Houston on the spot when he left them high and dry and he got some bad press for that.    Miami only ranks 97th in returning production this year while UAB ranks 8th.  The Blazer’s also have consistency at quarterback in Tyler Johnson III and we know how good coach Bill Clark has been for this team.  Miami won’t have the same home field advantage with 0 to just a few fans.   There also is a rust factor for Miami coming in with almost a brand new team.  UAB got to play a game last week and I know that they only beat Central Arkansas by 10 points but that was due to some garbage time while they almost doubled Central Arkansas in total yards.  I think UAB is a live dog here and I like them to cover and I wouldn’t be shocked if they won this one outright.
UAB +14 – 1.5 star premium play and sprinkle the ML
