Chicago Bears vs the Detroit Lions -3 O/U 44 – Gonna sound like a homer pick here of course but this thing moved to 3 and that is too far for the Lions. I have the Bears a slightly better team than the Lions on paper due to their ferocious defense. Football outsiders have the Bears ranked 18th from last year and the Lions ranked 21st. The lions have the better offense, supposedly anyways, but their coach Matt Patricia isn’t offensive minded at all. You can’t tell me that the Lions should get a 3 point home field advantage even if you have them at an equal or slightly better team. There are two huge things to consider this game. Mitch Trubisky is playing for his football future. It is do or die for him and if he is terrible, the Bears can always put Foles in. Matt Stafford has already been paid 9 figures for his contributions in the NFL. The Bears could win this outright and my power rankings have the Lions a -1.25. I also think that this number being key at 3 makes it a safe bet and I like it up to -120.

Augusto Sakai vs Alistair Overeem -155 – Overeem is just a much more experienced fighter than Sakai. Alistair is the more accurate puncher landing 63% of his significant strikes to Sakais 47%. He also has 3 inch reach advantage. Overeem can grapple and score points on take downs while Agusto rarely even goes for a take down. Alistair has fought the best of the best with guys like Francis Ngannou, Stipe Miocic and Jairzinho Rosenstruic and Agusto hasn’t come close to fighting any contenders of that caliber. Even though Sakai is 15-1-1 for his MMA career, he has only had 4 UFC fights against guys that are mainly tier 3 fighters. In 5 rounds I like the KO/TKO with the heavyweights and Overeem should be able to get that done as well here.

What are the odds that the three favorites would draw the outside post? Well it’s 2020 so that seems to make more sense. Either way the draw is better than the three inside posts and we will take what we can get here. I have to say the Tiz The Law and Honor AP are very deserving favorites here. I have watched both horses a lot and have to agree with the odds. In say that, only twice in 40 years have the 2 favorites places first and second and that is how you can try and make some money. The sleeper that I have in this race is the Pletcher horse in number 7 Money Moves. This horse has little experience but the fact that Todd chose this one over Dr Post tells me something. Money moves is a boom or bust horse so I am not going to get too excited here but we will use him in our tickets. The way we have to play this horse is to throw money at the favorites and hope that money moves or Authentic take’s first and/or second with Tiz the Law or Honor AP at 3rd. Here is the ticket. Diamondbacks vs Giants -128 – San Francisco ranks 6th in runs per game at 5.38 while Arizona ranks 25th at 4.1. Madison Bumgardner is pitching for the snakes and he is a shell of himself since all of the injuries the past few years. Madison is 0-3 witha 9.35 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. Trevor Cahill isn’t exactly lighting it up either but the Giants rank 7th in team OPS at .784 while the Diamondback’s rank 28th at .675. At 15-24 with 21 games to go the Diamondback’s are out of it in their division. The Giants at least have some hope here at home at 18-21. Lastly, being that Bumgardner has played for the Giants his whole career, I think that the team may know more about him than most pitchers. Both Bullpen’s are pretty equal here and this price is a bit short.

Texas vs Houston -186 O/U 9- Houston is just that much better in all categories than the Rangers. Cristian Javier is pitching for Houston today and Kolby Allard is pitching for Texas. Neither of these guys are that impressive but the Astros have the better bullpen at 4.22 ERA to Texas’s 4.9 ERA. Texas may have checked out somewhat this year and they really do not have a chance for the post season.

Dallas Keuchel is having a great year for the White Sox with a 2.7 ERA and 3.23 FIP. The Twins have been struggling vs lefties this year only batting a .239 average, .348 slugging and .654 OPS. The White Sox are one of the best teams in the league this year at 22-13 ranking second in team OPS, WAR and 8th in Bullpen FIP. Michael Pineda has been good for the Twins but he still hasn’t creeped under 4.0 for FIP since 2016. The Twins rank 22nd in OPS, 11th in Bullpen FIP and 19th in runs per game. I think it’s the Sox at this price.
